A language is a country you are slowly moving into. You do not learn it from a phrasebook at the border. Eduasis is a reading-first language app for people who would rather be inside a language than tested on it. Choose readings on the things you would happily read about in your own language — history, culture, science, sport, whatever your personal favourite is — pitched at your language level. Tap any word for a translation that fits the sentence. Ask for an explanation when something does not parse. Save what is useful, and let the app quietly bring it back until it stays. There are flashcards, and small rewards for returning, because returning is the whole game. But the heart of it is the reading. Eduasis is built on comprehensible input, free reading, and spaced repetition: three ideas that, together, turn a language from a wall to climb into a town you are getting to know. Read. Understand a little more than yesterday. Come back. — — — Currently available in eight languages: English, Turkish, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Danish, Dutch. Premium plans available. Most long English words are built from Latin and Greek parts. Learn the parts, and you can work out words you have never seen. Rootwise teaches one root a day. SPECT means "to look". Now inspect, spectator and retrospect make sense, and so does circumspect: careful, looking all around before acting. FIND YOUR NUMBER - A 2-minute placement test estimates how many words you already know - Fake words in the test catch guessing, so the estimate stays honest - One number to grow: the words you can decode LEARN A ROOT, DECODE A WORD - Each root comes with words you already know, so it sticks - Then decode new words from their parts and pick the right meaning - Every answer shows the real definition and an example sentence - Missed words come back in spaced review SEE THE FAMILY - The roots map shows every root and the words it unlocks - Trap words: look-alike roots with different origins, like PED (child) and PED (foot) - Share a card with your word count BUILT FOR - SAT, GRE and GMAT verbal prep - English learners who want to read faster - Anyone who wants to sound sharper at work PREMIUM - Every root is free to learn - Premium unlocks the last word of every root: 209 roots and 1,300+ words - $1.99/week or $3.99/month, no free trial, cancel anytime Your progress stays on your device.
