Log meals the easy way. Snap a photo or type what you ate. EatSnap shows calories and macros, and every item stays editable. No ads. No social feeds. No streak pressure. Just a calm, simple way to know what you eat. WHY EATSNAP FEELS DIFFERENT I'm an indie developer, and I'm on a diet myself. I don't have much time to exercise, so I wanted to understand my daily intake. That meant logging every meal. I tried many calorie apps, but most felt clunky and cluttered. Logging became a chore, so I built the one I wanted to use. HOW IT WORKS 1. Snap a photo, or type something like "latte and an egg sandwich." 2. EatSnap breaks the meal into items. 3. Change any name or weight to match what you actually ate. 4. Save it, and your totals update. MADE AROUND ONE MEAL A plate of steak and mashed potatoes is one meal, with each item inside. You can rename an item, adjust its weight, or add what's missing. The meal stays easy to read, and the details stay in your control. ESTIMATES YOU CAN ADJUST A photo can't know everything about a meal. Ingredients, cooking methods, and portion sizes all matter. EatSnap gives you a starting estimate, then lets you review and adjust it before saving. SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE Check your calories, carbs, protein, and fat in one view. Track your water intake, review your food reports, and export your records whenever you need them. FOOD FROM EVERYWHERE I tested EatSnap on cuisines from around the world, so it handles more than burgers and salads. Log the meals you actually eat. FRIENDLY ON IPHONE Built for iOS 26, with a clean design that feels familiar. Light and dark modes keep your food in focus, not the interface. EatSnap syncs with Apple Health, and your history is backed up with iCloud. TRY IT ON YOUR OWN MEALS There's a free trial. After that, unlimited logging requires a monthly or yearly subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at purchase confirmation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Privacy Policy: https://eatsnapai.com/

Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: EatSnap at freemium against Glow Up's subscription. Glow Up's advantage is ratings volume (37 vs 2) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Glow Up sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and EatSnap sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Glow Up against 5.0 for EatSnap. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Glow Up has 37 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.
Glow Up ships an update every 2 weeks, EatSnap weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
