KQ Tixie is a 4-operator FM synthesizer for iPhone and iPad that faithfully recreates the sound and behavior of classic FM instruments from the 1980s. Experience the iconic character of vintage FM synthesis with a modern touch interface, MPE support, and AUv3 compatibility. FM synthesis generates sound mathematically rather than playing back recorded samples. 4-operator FM is not simply a smaller version of 6-operator FM. With fewer operators, sound design becomes more immediate and intuitive, making it easier to reach the sound you want without unnecessary complexity. Despite its streamlined architecture, 4-operator FM is capable of producing powerful basses, sparkling bells, rich electric pianos, cutting leads, and many of the iconic sounds that defined an era. KQ Tixie faithfully recreates the character and workflow that make 4-operator FM unique. It's not about having fewer operators—it's about a more refined design. 4-operator FM is another evolution of FM synthesis. TwinPath enables parallel effects processing using your existing Audio Units, without configuring busses or complex routings. It hides the details of managing multiple signal paths, and offers a compact, quickly accessible control interface. The result is a consistent setup you can easily recreate in any DAW, regardless of how each host handles audio routing. Among its possible applications, TwinPath pairs especially well with delay effects for dynamic performances. Shifting focus from deep editing to switching between (or blending) entire modules opens up a new perspective and new features – especially when feedback delays are involved. And of course, both approaches can be applied at the same time. Once inserted into a track’s effects chain, TwinPath handles splitting and merging audio streams and provides several convenience features. It offers two main classes of operation: CROSS-FADE • Blend between two effects chains using a single control • Switchable pre/post operation: pre mode preserves effect tails and lets feedback effects "breathe", while post mode offers instant, direct control DUAL MONO • Run different effects chains for Left/Right, Mid/Side, or a continuous blend between them • Channel mapping and FX bias are smooth, performance-friendly controls • Quick and efficient workflow replacement that overcomes functional limits of stock dual mono modes, such as restrictions on independent preset loading PLEASE NOTE: • An AUv3-compatible host is required to use this app
