Station Insight turns your Ambient Weather station into a live dashboard for the spaces you manage — the greenhouse, the server closet, the nursery, your home. It's a companion app for Ambient Weather station owners; you'll need a station (or the built-in demo) to use it. A DASHBOARD FOR EVERY SPACE Group the sensors you care about into dashboards — one for the greenhouse, one for the house, one for the lab — and switch between them with a tap. Rename any sensor so "Temp 1" becomes "Greenhouse". WIDGETS FOR HOME AND LOCK SCREEN Put any dashboard on your Home Screen or Lock Screen. Each widget can show a different dashboard, in every widget size — the readings you care about, without opening the app. WORKS WITH SHORTCUTS AND SIRI Ask for any reading or a whole dashboard from the Shortcuts app or Siri — "Check my station in Station Insight." Readings come back with their value, unit, and threshold status, so you can build automations like "every morning at 7, if the greenhouse is below 40°, notify me." Data-only steps run in the background without opening the app. COMBINE READINGS Create custom readings that combine sensors, like the difference between outside and inside temperature, and put those on dashboards, widgets, and in Shortcuts too. KNOW THE MOMENT SOMETHING DRIFTS Set a low and high threshold on any reading and its tile warns you — amber as the value nears the limit, then a bold "Out of Range" flag when it crosses. Add your own note to a notification — "Outside has cooled to inside — turn off the A/C" — so the alert tells you what to do, not just what happened. BUILT TO BE ACCESSIBLE Every reading, alert state, and control is labeled for VoiceOver, text scales to the largest accessibility sizes, and threshold warnings are spelled out in words — never signaled by color alone. Full Dark Mode, too. YOUR UNITS Imperial, metric, or follow your device — °F/°C, mph/km/h, in/mm, inHg/hPa. TRY IT WITHOUT HARDWARE No station yet? The built-in demo serves realistic readings through the full app — dashboards, thresholds, and a live alert scenario — so you can explore everything before you buy a station. CONNECT YOUR STATION Enter your Ambient Weather API key and every sensor your station reports appears in seconds: temperature, humidity, wind, rain, soil moisture, air quality, barometric pressure, and more. Requires an Ambient Weather station and its API key. (Other platforms may be added later.) Your API key is stored securely in the device Keychain and readings go directly from the weather service to your device — no accounts, no middleman server. I've run an Ambient Weather station for years, and kept wishing it did more with the data. So I built Station Insight.
