WakeShot
Read full descriptionHide full description
■ For anyone who turns off the alarm and falls back asleep WakeShot is an alarm that won't stop until you photograph a place you decided on. Unlike a normal alarm you can silence in bed, to stop it you have to get up and walk to your chosen place. The photo mission breaks the "stop the alarm, go back to sleep" loop. ■ It keeps ringing until you photograph the place For each alarm you set a "place to photograph on waking" (e.g. frying pan, kettle, kitchen sink, washbasin). When it rings, go there and take a photo with the camera. The alarm won't stop until you do. The trick is to pick a place you can only shoot after leaving bed. ■ AI checks whether it's really the place Register one photo of the place, and on waking the AI matches it against your new photo. A different place, or a quick shot of the ceiling or blanket, won't stop it. Only the same place stops the alarm. Everything runs on your device (using Apple's image recognition). Photos are never sent outside the app. * Alarms with no reference photo stop as soon as you take any photo (no check). ■ Loud even when silenced or turned down Alarms that use the notification sound may not ring, or stop after about 30 seconds, when muted or turned down. WakeShot rings with its own audio, so it plays loud even with the mute switch on or the volume low. ■ No snooze To remove the "five more minutes" temptation, there's no snooze button on purpose. The only way to stop the alarm is to photograph your chosen place. ■ Works like a normal clock app - Set the time with a wheel - Repeat by day of week - A label per alarm - One-off alarms turn off automatically after they ring (like the built-in clock) ■ Privacy Photos and alarm settings are all saved only on your device. No login, no account. * To keep this app free, it shows a banner ad and a full-screen ad on screen transitions. No ads on the ringing screen or while shooting. Identifiers may be used to deliver ads (see the privacy policy).
