Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Yapper Live at free with in-app purchases against Prettier's subscription. Yapper Live also leads on review sentiment (40% vs 12%). Prettier's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (665 vs 44). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Yapper Live sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Prettier sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Prettier holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Prettier has 665 ratings behind it against 44, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Yapper Live's written reviews are positive against 12% of Prettier's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Yapper Live ships an update every 8 days, Prettier every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
