Handpiece is a preclinical dental simulator for iPad and Apple Pencil. PREPARATIONS Cut Class I and Class II amalgam, Class II composite, and full gold and all-ceramic crown preparations on 3D teeth with a virtual handpiece driven by Apple Pencil. Work on a bench segment, a full typodont or a phantom head with a mouth mirror and loupes. When you finish, the preparation is measured and graded criterion by criterion (outline form, pulpal and axial depth, wall convergence, marginal ridges, margins, adjacent tooth damage) against textbook targets, with the numbers behind every grade. RESTORATIONS Fill Class I and Class II amalgam and Class II composite preparations with a carrier, condenser, carver, matrix band and curing light, then see the restoration compared with the tooth's own anatomy. EXAM MODE Sit timed, board-style practicals in the phantom head, with no undo and results at the end. MIRROR PRACTICE Train indirect vision with a real dental mirror. Trace lines, shapes, numbers, letters and the occlusal outlines and grooves of real teeth, one tooth or a whole arch, then cut preparations with the iPad out of direct sight. TOOTH ANATOMY Study all 32 permanent and 20 primary teeth in 3D, with every landmark named and explained, cross-sections, and the pulp horns. Compare a primary tooth with its permanent look-alike or successor side by side at true size, and watch teeth erupt and shed from birth to 21 on the eruption timeline, and learn eruption ages block by block with the Block method. Practise with timed station practicals that ask about a structure, the eruption age or the pulp horns, guided identification that walks you through dentition, arch, class, type and side, landmark hunts, and a numbering drill for Universal, FDI, Palmer and Haderup notation. Each works on permanent, primary or mixed dentitions. BENCHMARKS See how your graded preparations compare with other students' anonymous attempts, practice and exam mode separately. No account and no personal data: everything works offline. HANDPIECE PRO Free: the Daily ID, ten teeth to identify each day, and the 3D viewer of the 32 permanent teeth. Handpiece Pro unlocks everything else, as a weekly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. The welcome tour lets you try a landmark question on a 3D molar and mirror drawing first. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed in your App Store account settings. Handpiece is a study aid for dental students. It does not replace supervised preclinical training.
