Avita is the language app where you learn by speaking. Every lesson is a conversation inside a story. You answer out loud in full sentences, and Avita grades every answer and shows you how a native speaker would say it. No multiple choice. No word banks. No tapping tiles. You hear it, you think, you say it. HOW A LESSON WORKS 1. Read. A short text teaches the grammar and words you're about to use. Tap Listen to hear it read aloud with each word highlighted. 2. Warm up. The lesson's key words are ready as flashcards if you want a quick review first. 3. Speak. A character talks to you and you answer out loud. Stuck? Ask for a hint or a translation, or type your answer instead. 4. Get graded. Every answer gets a score, a corrected, natural version and a short reason why. Mistakes are part of the plan. A STORY THAT KEEPS GOING In the Spanish course you move into Edificio Sol, an apartment building in Medellín, Colombia, and get to know your neighbors one conversation at a time, starting with Doña Carmen at the bakery. The Italian course starts a new life in Bologna, and the French course a new life in France. Every lesson moves the story forward, so new words turn up right where you need them. FOUR COURSES, A1 TO B2 • Spanish for English speakers • French for English speakers • Italian for English speakers • English for Spanish speakers Every course has more than 200 lessons across four levels, from A1 (beginner) to B2 (upper intermediate). ALSO INSIDE • Flashcards with spaced repetition: curated decks, or describe any topic and get a custom deck • Tap a highlighted word to hear how it sounds • Streaks with automatic streak freezes, plus daily reminders based on when you last practiced • Stats for your streak, words learned and speaking time • Tips: bite-sized study cards for each language FREE TO START Start your first lesson without creating an account. WHY WE BUILT IT We're two friends who quit our jobs and moved to South America to learn Spanish. Every app we tried taught us words, and none of them got us to what we actually wanted: a real conversation with a real person. So we built the app we wished we'd had. Our goal is to teach you enough to make a friend. After that, they'll teach you the rest. Not just fluent. Connected. Terms of Use: https://avita.lat/terms Privacy Policy: https://avita.lat/privacy
Mitoki

You set the time. Then you can see it — all the way down to zero. Mitoki shows time as blocks instead of numbers. One block vanishes at a time, so someone who cannot yet read a clock can still see how much is left — from across the room, without asking. HOW YOU USE IT Short time — for the moment happening now. A big block is ten minutes, a small one is two. Put a picture on a block so it is clear what happens when it is gone. Long time — for the afternoon or the whole day. A big block is an hour, a small one a quarter. Day schedule — build the day from clock times and pictures. Mornings, evenings, an outing. You can see where in the day you are without anyone having to say it. Measure and compare — a stopwatch where the blocks fill up instead of emptying. Time how long brushing teeth takes, save it with a name and a picture, and compare it with the next one. A boring stretch and a fun one can be the same length, but the fun one feels shorter — and noticing that is exactly how a sense of time is built. Several at once — one timer per person or activity, all running together. See them all as a list, or open one row in full view when someone needs their own timer in front of them. BUILT FOR EVERYDAY LIFE • Works fully offline, and on older phones • No account, no ads, nothing leaves the phone • A parental lock so a running timer cannot be changed by accident • Dark mode and colour themes • The sound plays even when the phone is on silent WHO IT IS FOR For anyone who would rather see time than count it. For those who struggle to feel time passing — with ADHD, autism or time blindness. And for anyone waiting for something without knowing how long. You set it up. The time shows. That is the whole idea. Mitoki requires a subscription: a yearly plan with a 14-day free trial, a monthly plan, or a one-off purchase. Current prices are shown in the app and on this page. The trial becomes a subscription unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends. Manage or cancel it in your App Store settings. Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Mitoki at every 3 days against Avita's weekly. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
