The best part of the TCG hobby happens face to face. Trovie exists to protect that. The less time a vendor spends pricing cards and doing math, the more time everyone has for the conversation that brought them to the table in the first place. FOR VENDORS: LESS MATH, MORE TIME AT THE TABLE Most vendors know what a card sold for. Almost none know what they made on it. Writing down what you paid, card by card, is too slow to do at a buy counter, so it doesn't happen. Trovie fixes that. - Set it once: set your buy percentage and every card you scan in gets a cost basis automatically. Know something the market doesn't? Override any number by hand. - Every deal, one screen: buys, sells, and trades with cash added in all use the same entry. Nothing to reconcile later. - Sealed, slabs, and singles: boxes, bundles, and ETBs scan by barcode. Raw cards and slabs are identified instantly. - Know what the show actually made you: every event gets its own scoreboard: cost, margin, cards in, cards out. - Run it with your crew: invite the people working your booth. Everyone sees the same live inventory, and a multi-table setup can run several shows at once, one per staffer. FOR COLLECTORS: WALK UP AND SEE WHAT'S THERE (Patent Pending) No more flipping through every binder to find out what a vendor has. Scan the QR code at their table and their live inventory opens right on your phone. No app, no login, nothing to install to browse. Build a list as you go and hand it over ready to check out. It's a starting point for the conversation, not a hold on the card, so nothing is ever reserved or claimed out from under anyone. --- EIGHT GAMES AND COUNTING. Trovie covers the major trading card games collectors and vendors actually deal in (English and Japanese editions included) with new sets and new games added constantly. WHAT TROVIE ISN'T. Not a register or POS replacement. Not a marketplace, and Trovie never takes a cut of a sale. This is the back office for the table that's already happening, not a new place to run it from. Built by people in this hobby, for the hobby. Less time on admin, more time with the person across the table.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Trovie at 20 against TapGuards's 3. TapGuards's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 92%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
TapGuards holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trovie has 20 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of TapGuards's written reviews are positive against 92% of Trovie's.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
