Recovery Buddy - Your Daily Companion Track your journey. Stay motivated. One day at a time. From (in)Dependence—makers of thoughtful apps for meaningful change. A Note About This App: Recovery Pet is a personal wellness companion—not a medical treatment. Always consult with doctors, therapists, and licensed professionals for medical advice. If you're in crisis, call 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Why This Exists: I built this app during my own journey because I needed something real. Something that understood the daily grind of recovery without the BS. This isn't therapy. It's not a cure. It's just a companion that gets it. What You Get: Your companion evolves with you. Seriously. The longer you stay on track, the more your pet grows. It's weirdly motivating to watch something change as you change. Daily check-ins that actually matter. No lectures. No judgment. Just "how'd today go?" and you're done. An AI companion that won't ghost you at 3am. When cravings hit and you need someone to talk to, it's there. (It's AI, not a therapist—but sometimes you just need to vent to something that listens.) Track multiple habits. Because let's be real, you're probably working on more than one thing. Free version lets you track 2. Premium is unlimited. Tasks that earn you real progress. Check them off, earn XP, level up. Your brain likes seeing progress—might as well use that. What You Don't Get: Medical advice. Go to a doctor for that. Emergency support. Call 911 or 988 if you're in crisis. A miracle. This is just a tool. You're doing the real work. The Free Version: 2 companions (2 habits/addictions) Daily check-ins 7 daily tasks 3 AI chats per day Full progress tracking Premium ($4.99/month or $39.99/year): Unlimited companions 10 daily tasks Unlimited AI chats 1.5x XP boost Custom tasks Why We Made This: Most recovery apps feel like they were designed by people who've never been there. All sunshine and rainbows and "you got this!" energy that feels fake when you're struggling. We wanted something honest. Something that tracks the small wins because some days, a small win is everything. Something with a companion that evolves as you do, because seeing progress—even digital progress—reminds you that you're moving forward. This isn't a replacement for real help. Therapy, support groups, doctors—all that matters way more than any app ever will. But on random Tuesday at 2pm when you just need something? Maybe this helps. One day at a time. That's all any of us can do. Also from (in)Dependence: Looking for sensory tools for kids? Check out our Busy Board and Sensory Switch Wall apps—designed specifically for children with autism and sensory needs. Important Reminders: This app provides motivational support only Always seek professional medical care Emergency? Call 911 or 988 The AI companion is for motivation, not medical advice Use alongside professional treatment, not instead of it Start your journey. Download Recovery Pet. About

WITHSTAND

WITHSTAND is an anonymous peer-support app for adults 18 and older who are facing compulsive urges or a habit they want to leave behind. When an urge gets strong, the app looks for another member who is in the Watch at that moment. A five-minute "someone is here" session begins only if that person accepts. Anonymous sessions have no free-text chat, no voice and no video. What passes between two people in a session is a short set of server-defined signals. A peer sees your anonymous name, your light, the fixed signals during the session, the shared action you chose, and your connection state — nothing else. Community, the center tab, is an opt-in place to read and share short posts with peers walking the same road — under a display name you choose, text only, moderated, with report, mute and block on every post. There are no direct messages. Free, and staying free: - Ask an adult peer to be with you for five minutes when an urge is strong - Be there for someone else when you have the capacity - Open and rewrite your own Plan when an urge comes (it opens offline too) - Keep a private journal and read it back - See your walk: days held, urges survived, marks lit - Keep a separate walk for each thing you want to be free from - Open immediate-help information from inside the app - Block and report a peer, during a session and after it - Delete your account from inside the app - Read, support and share in Community, and choose which of its notifications reach you Plus (subscription) adds: - A Personal Circle. Invite up to five people you trust; when you ask for support, your ask reaches them too, and you can see by name who came. People you invite can respond without buying Plus. - The strength before and after an urge, drawn as a line over several weeks - The hours your records cluster in - The prepared hour: a quiet word shortly before the hour you set, reminding you of your own plan - A single page on Sunday morning, looking back over the week - Your own photo as the backdrop - Longer Community posts and titled articles - Comet. Relay during an urge, and the Recovery Program: an AI conversation that draws on your own records, walk and plan. It is not a human peer, a therapist or a crisis service Supporter (subscription) is a way to keep WITHSTAND running. While it is active you can use a supporter's mark, an alternate app icon, and a choice of night sky. WITHSTAND is not medical care, therapy, professional counseling, addiction treatment, or an emergency service. It does not promise relapse prevention or a treatment outcome, it does not monitor anyone for crisis, and it cannot call emergency services. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number. Asking for support, and being there for someone, will stay free. The app shows no advertising.
