About

Readmon

Features

Readmon reads the books you already own, out loud, in a voice that sounds like a person. On a night when your eyes are tired, or with your hands in the sink, the story keeps going. β–  Ten AI voices that sound like people Not a robot. Choose from five female and five male voices. Add a reading style that fits the text β€” novel, news β€” and Readmon remembers which voice you used for each book. The AI voices support 31 languages: English, Korean, Japanese, Arabic, Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, German, Greek, Spanish, Estonian, Finnish, French, Hindi, Croatian, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese. Languages not on this list cannot be read by the AI voices. Chinese is not on the list. If the language you read is not on the list, please do not buy the AI voices. You can listen in that language with the system voices built into iOS, and everything else in the app is free. Dialogue is read in a different voice from the narration. When lines run back and forth, two voices take turns, so it sounds like a conversation. β–  On your iPhone, with no internet The narration is generated entirely on your iPhone. It keeps working when the connection drops, and on a plane. You download a voice once. After that, no internet is needed. β–  The files you already have TXT, EPUB and PDF, and comics too. 7z, CBZ, CBR, ZIP and RAR all open. Bring books in from Calibre-Web, OPDS, WebDAV, Dropbox or OneDrive. PDFs and scanned books are recognized on the device and read aloud as well. β–  Comfortable while you read Sleep timer β€” it stops on its own if you fall asleep Lock screen controls β€” turn pages and pause without taking it out of your pocket Repeat a passage β€” go back over the part you missed Pronunciation dictionary β€” make names and unusual words sound the way you want Page-turn animation β€” pages that turn like paper β–  Not a subscription Buy the AI voices once and they stay yours. Nothing to cancel, nothing to pay again next month. Listen free for 30 minutes before you buy. Everything else works without buying anything.
