Face Data Use, Sharing, and Retention NeuroPortion uses face photos solely to generate wellness insights such as hydration, stress, sleep-related signals, and general portion guidance. When you choose to run a face scan, your photo is sent to OpenAI, a third-party AI service, to estimate these wellness signals. • What face data is shared? Only the face photo you submit during the scan. • Why is it shared? We share the photo with OpenAI because their model allows us to generate on-demand wellness signal estimates (e.g., hydration clues, fatigue indicators, stress-related facial tension, etc.) based on the image. • Do third parties store this data? OpenAI does not store your face photo or derived face data. Each image is processed once, in real time, and then discarded by OpenAI. • How long is the face data retained? NeuroPortion does not store your face photos on our servers. They are used only transiently during analysis and not retained. No biometric identifiers or templates are created. • Who has access to the data? Only OpenAI processes the photo for the purpose described above. Your face data is not shared with advertisers, analytics companies, or additional third parties. SymptomLog is a private daily diary for one person living with one long-term condition. Log how the day actually went in under a minute, then show your doctor a record instead of trying to remember. At setup you choose your condition — migraine, IBS and gut health, autoimmune, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, endometriosis, allergies, mental health, or something else — and your starting symptom list is built around it. WHAT ONE DAY LOOKS LIKE Tap the quick-log card on the home screen. Pick one of five moods, from Terrible to Great. Slide each symptom you track from 0 to 10. Tap anything that may have played a part: poor sleep, stress, weather change, a certain food, alcohol, exercise, a missed dose, menstrual cycle, dehydration, overexertion, travel, illness. Add a note if you want one, then save. That's the whole thing. The home screen shows your logging streak, your total days logged, and a week-at-a-glance strip, so you can see which days you missed and go back and fill them in. An optional reminder at a time you choose nudges you once a day. IT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE There's no account, no sign-up and no cloud sync. Your entries are stored on this device — no copy sits on a server, and nobody else can open your log. PREMIUM: TURN THE LOG INTO AN ANSWER • See the shape of it — trend lines, a severity breakdown, a calendar heatmap and your mood distribution across 7, 30 or 90 days. • Check your triggers — a frequency chart showing which triggers you tapped most over the period you chose. • Hand your doctor something readable — a full Doctor Report as a PDF, a single-symptom report, or a side-by-side comparison of two date ranges. • Keep the raw numbers — export everything as a CSV file. • Track what you actually have — add, remove and reorder your own symptoms. • Look back a full year instead of 30 days. You get a few minutes with your doctor. Spend them on the conversation, not on reconstructing the last three months out loud. GETTING STARTED Setup takes about a minute: choose your condition, choose the symptoms you want to start with, set a reminder if you'd like one. Daily logging and the last 30 days of history are included at no cost. Premium is available weekly or yearly, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase, whenever the charts and reports are worth it to you. The weekly and yearly plans are auto-renewing subscriptions, charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase and renewing unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel anytime in your account settings. A trial is offered on a plan only when your account is eligible for one. Lifetime is a single purchase with no recurring charge. Current prices are shown on the plan screen in your local currency. Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: NeuroPortion at every 5 days against Symptom Log's every 2 weeks. NeuroPortion also leads on ratings volume (6 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NeuroPortion sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Symptom Log sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for NeuroPortion against 5.0 for Symptom Log. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NeuroPortion has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
NeuroPortion ships an update every 5 days, Symptom Log every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
