Someone sent you a .msg file and your iPhone can’t open it? Msgly reads .msg email files right on your iPhone — see the subject, sender, recipients and message text, and pull out the attachments inside. Save the .msg file to Files, tap Open a .msg File and pick it. Msgly shows the message and lists every attachment, ready to share or save. You can also open a .msg straight from Mail or Files with the share button and choose Msgly. Messages saved by older or non-English Outlook versions (Japanese, Cyrillic, Western European) show their text correctly. • READ THE MESSAGE — subject, From (name and email address), To, and the message body with selectable text you can copy. • HTML EMAILS TOO — when a message only has an HTML body, Msgly shows it as clean plain text. • EXTRACT ATTACHMENTS — every attached file is listed with its original filename and size: PDFs, images, documents, spreadsheets and more. • SHARE OR SAVE TO FILES — share one attachment, save it to Files, or use Save All to save several at once. • CLEAR ERRORS — if a file isn’t a .msg message or looks damaged, Msgly tells you instead of showing a blank screen. Honest scope: Msgly is a viewer, not an email client — it can’t reply, forward or send, and it doesn’t show CC, dates or the original formatting and inline images of HTML emails. Messages attached inside another message are not opened. It opens .msg files only (not .eml or winmail.dat). The file is read on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded and no account is needed. Free: read any .msg file and save or share the first 3 attachments of each message. A one-time $4.99 purchase unlocks saving every attachment. No subscription, no ads. Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: D at none against Msgly's 1. Msgly's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
