For car buyers, not mechanics. Flood damage, bodywork, paint jobs—you can spot those at a glance if you’ve been buying cars for a while. But what’s inside the car’s computer? That’s the one thing you can’t see—and missing it can cost you thousands. With AutoChemai and a compatible Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) OBD adapter, the computer’s data is explained in plain language you can actually understand. ■ What it tells you ・Whether this car has any trouble codes that can’t be cleared (Clearing codes or disconnecting the battery won’t erase these, so they can’t just be “reset” and hidden) ・If the computer was recently reset (Self-checks completed, distance recorded since codes were cleared, and codes stored without the data saved at the moment of the fault. These signs cannot tell clearing codes apart from disconnecting the battery) ・Pending issues the computer has already logged, even if the warning light isn’t on yet ・Whether the VIN in the computer matches the car in front of you ■ What it won’t do ・It explains results in plain language instead of giving only a code or technical terms (Technical details are kept in a “for mechanics” section you don’t need to open) ・It won’t tell you to replace parts or guess how much repairs might cost —Guessing wrong could make you pay the wrong price, so we don’t guess ・It won’t clear codes or change any vehicle settings. Read only, never write. ■ What it can’t check (please read this part) Standard OBD-II only covers engine and emissions data. Airbags, ABS, accident history, flood damage, mileage accuracy—this app does not check any of those. The report has a section listing what wasn’t checked this time, and you can’t hide that section—because “no problems found” doesn’t mean “no problems.” ■ If we can’t tell the difference between “not present” and “couldn’t check,” we don’t make a call A bad receiver might return a blank answer when it can’t read permanent trouble codes. If you treat that as “this car has none,” the report looks clean, and you end up buying a problem car. So we always write these three things separately: Found and it’s not there / Receiver couldn’t read / This car doesn’t provide it. ■ Don’t have a receiver yet? You can tap “View sample reports” right away and see what a report looks like with demo data— no hardware needed. ■ Reading rules update automatically The app downloads reading rules for more makes and models from autochemai.com, so you don’t need to update the app for that. It does not send vehicle data, VINs, diagnostic results or device identifiers. ■ What you need A Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) OBD-II adapter compatible with the app (sold separately, not through the app). The car must be OBD-II compatible; the data available depends on the vehicle. ■ Subscription Features are provided by auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly, price shown at checkout). New subscribers get a 3-day free trial; cancel at least 24 hours before it ends and you won’t be charged. Subscription renews automatically; you can cancel anytime in “Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.” Terms of Service: https://autochemai.com/terms Privacy Policy: https://autochemai.com/privacy

The clearest difference is update cadence: AutoChemai at every 2 days against Check Engine Chat's monthly. AutoChemai also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
