A quiet, beautifully typeset place to keep the passages you underline. NO ADS. NO ACCOUNT. NO TRACKING. Your quotes never leave your phone. And I Quote is a reading journal for the words that stop you mid-page. Point your camera at a passage, tap the lines you want, and it's saved — in your library, under the book it came from, ready to find again in seconds. CAPTURE • Photograph any page — automatic edge detection and perspective correction, powered by the system scanner • On-device text recognition finds every line; tap to select exactly the words you want, across as many lines as you need • Fine-tune the text before saving — a fully editable confirm step catches any stray OCR mistake • Add a new book by scanning its ISBN barcode (title, author, cover art, and publish year fill in automatically), or by typing the details yourself ORGANIZE • Every quote lives under its book — browse your library as a cover-art shelf or a text list, sorted by what you've read most recently • Tag any book or quote with your own colored labels, and find everything sharing a theme across your whole library at once — not just within one book • A "Quote of the Day" greets you each time you open the app — the same one until midnight, then a new one — with a daily reminder if you'd rather it come to you • Chronicle: see your reading activity as a calendar heatmap or a timeline chart, with your current streak, longest streak, and best day • Search by typed text (matches highlighted right where they occur, recent searches remembered) or by tag, scoped exactly how you want • A simple stats view: total quotes, total books, your most-quoted book, and more SHARE • Turn any quote into a shareable card, styled and ready for social — with multiple card styles to choose from • Or share the plain text, wherever you'd share anything else MAKE IT YOURS • Eight built-in reading themes, each with a matching app icon — pick the one that feels like your library • Every theme respects light and dark mode automatically • Home Screen widgets bring your library outside the app — Quote of the Day, your stats, or a shelf preview, always up to date YOUR LIBRARY, YOUR PHONE • No account. No login. No email required, ever. • Export your entire journal any time — as plain text, Markdown, or CSV — it's yours • Back up your whole journal to a file, and restore it anytime — the same install, a new device, or after a fresh start • Nothing is collected, nothing is tracked, nothing is sold — there's no server of ours for your data to ever touch Designed with real typography — proper quotation marks, considered spacing, a serif voice for the words that deserve one. Built for people who read physical books and want the parts worth keeping in one honest, private place. Book details are looked up via Open Library, a free, nonprofit catalog run by the Internet Archive. That lookup is the only thing And I Quote ever sends over the network — and only when you choose to scan a barcode.
