Scott's Guide is a reloading bench log and bullet reference in one app. Keep track of what you have on hand, record what you load, and look up any bullet in the catalog without leaving the room. WHAT YOU CAN DO MY BENCH Open the app to what you actually have: bullets, powder, primers, brass and loaded ammunition. Powder is entered in pounds, brass counts its firings, and anything running low is flagged at the top. One search field covers both your own bench and the full catalog, so you are never guessing which screen to look in. SCAN A BOX TO ADD IT Point the camera at the barcode on a box of components and the details fill in for you, including how many are in the box. A 500 count case adds 500, not 1. If a barcode is not recognised yet, you can identify it once and everyone who scans that box afterwards gets the answer. LOADING SESSIONS Record a session and your bench updates itself. Powder comes off by charge times rounds, bullets and primers by rounds, brass advances a firing, and the ammunition you produced is added back as stock. Delete a session and it returns exactly what it took. YOUR FIREARMS Keep your rifles, pistols and shotguns with chambering, barrel length, twist rate, round count and photos. Type a model and the factory specs fill in. RANGE TRIPS Log what you shot, how it grouped and what you learned, tied to the firearm and the ammunition you used. BULLET CATALOG Thousands of bullets from the major manufacturers, with ballistic coefficients, sectional density, diameter and recommended twist. Filter by caliber, weight or manufacturer, and compare candidates side by side. AI LOAD ADVISOR Ask for load guidance in plain language and get starting and maximum charges with the source cited. Turn on bench mode and it works from the components you already own instead of suggesting things you would have to go buy. OFFLINE READY The catalog is available without a signal, so a dead spot at the range or in the reloading room does not lock you out. WHAT IS FREE AND WHAT IS NOT The catalog, comparisons, your bench, your firearms and range trips are free to use. Scott's Guide Pro adds unlimited loading session logging and a monthly allowance of AI Load Advisor questions. Free accounts include a small number of advisor questions and three logged sessions per month. Pro is an auto renewing subscription at $1.99 per month or $9.99 per year. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it any time in your Apple Account settings. SAFETY Scott's Guide is an informational reference. It is not a replacement for published manufacturer manuals or official load data. Verify every AI generated result and every reference value against current published manufacturer data before you use it. Reloading ammunition is inherently dangerous. Follow established safety protocols, start at the minimum charge, and double check every powder charge and component before loading. Every handloader has that notebook. Powder residue on the cover, a workup scrawled across two pages, chrono numbers you meant to move to a spreadsheet three range trips ago. Hand Load retires it: a bench-ready journal that keeps every recipe, every component, and every shot in one place you can actually search. Built for shooters who already know their way around a press — precision rifle competitors working through a ladder, pistol shooters chasing a node, hunters tuning a load before opening day. No ads, no accounts, and nobody watching over your shoulder. RECIPES Record every variable that matters, the way you would on a good data sheet: • Bullet, powder, primer, brass, charge weight, and COAL • Powder measure setting, so a proven throw is easy to return to • Die settings, including shoulder bump, neck bushing, and CBTO • Case preparation: trim-to length, amount trimmed, and times fired at trimming COMPONENT INVENTORY • Track powders, primers, bullets, and brass on hand • Know what's on the shelf before you plan the next session at the press EQUIPMENT • Firearms, with barrel length and twist rate • Presses and dies, tied to the recipes that use them RANGE SESSIONS • Shot-by-shot velocity for every string • Group size and weather conditions • A five-step impression rating per string, so your notes still mean something six months later STATISTICS • Average velocity, SD, ES, and MOA computed automatically for every string • Results aggregated per recipe — see how a load performs over its whole history, not just its best day • No more averaging strings by hand on the tailgate BUILT FOR THE BENCH • Rapid entry keypad mode for logging fast between strings • Voice dictation for hands-free velocity entry — read the chronograph, say the number, keep shooting • Imperial and metric units, one toggle • Fully offline — no cell signal required at the range YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS • No accounts, no sign-up screen, no ads, no analytics, no third-party SDKs • Optional iCloud sync stores your journal in your private database; the developer never sees your data • Edit your saved entries, clear optional values, and delete records in the app • Your load book is nobody's business but yours A JOURNAL, NOT A LOAD MANUAL Hand Load is a record-keeping tool. It does not contain load data and will never suggest or recommend a charge weight or any other load parameter. Always verify every load against current published data from your powder and bullet manufacturers before loading or firing, and follow established handloading practices. ONE PURCHASE, NO SUBSCRIPTION Start free. Unlock the full app with Hand Load Unlimited, a one-time purchase — no subscription, no recurring fees. Tools you buy once and own, like everything else on your bench. Requires iOS 17 or later. Works on iPhone and iPad.
