FleetLedger keeps the record of a working fleet (what each vehicle is, what has been done to it, and what is due next) on the phone or iPad of the person doing the work. It is built for the shop floor, not the back office. Log a repair at the vehicle instead of remembering it until you get back to a desk, photograph the damage while you're looking at it, and check the registration is current before the truck leaves. GET STARTED IN MINUTES • Create an account and start your own fleet, whether it's a business or just your family's vehicles • A short setup suggests vehicle categories to fit your fleet, then walks you through adding your first vehicle • Joining your team's fleet instead? Enter the join code they gave you and an admin approves you • Belong to more than one fleet? Switch between them from your profile THE FLEET • Every vehicle with photos, category and current location • Search, filter and group the list, or switch to a photo grid • A readiness view of what is expiring or overdue • VIN decoding through NHTSA's vPIC database, so the specs come from the manufacturer's own filing rather than from typing ON EACH VEHICLE • Maintenance and service history • Fuel, expenses and mileage logs • Registration, insurance and warranty records, with what expires when • Documents, kept with the vehicle they belong to • Installed parts and the inventory drawn against them THE WORK • Tasks and projects, assigned or unassigned, with a calendar view • Service orders through their lifecycle • A dashboard of what needs attention now INVENTORY • Parts and units across stock locations • Scan a barcode to add an item • Receive shipments, with the receipt photographed on the spot REMINDERS THAT ARRIVE Registrations and insurance policies expire without warning. FleetLedger picks them up in advance and tells you, in the app and with a push notification. BUILT FOR IPAD TOO A layout that uses the larger screen, with keyboard and pointer support, for the office desk or the shop bench. PRIVACY A fleet's records are sensitive: VINs, plates, addresses and customers. Each fleet's data is kept to that fleet, what each person can see is set by their role, and an optional Face ID lock keeps a shared shop device private. You can delete your account at any time from your profile.

Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Fleetledger at every 5 days against Vanderhall Tool's monthly. Vanderhall Tool's advantage is ratings volume (6 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Vanderhall Tool against 5.0 for Fleetledger. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Vanderhall Tool has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Vanderhall Tool ships an update monthly, Fleetledger every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
