Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: BrainPlay at every 3 days against TilePop Game's every 2 weeks. BrainPlay also leads on ratings volume (10 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BrainPlay sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and TilePop Game sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for BrainPlay against 5.0 for TilePop Game. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BrainPlay has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
BrainPlay ships an update every 3 days, TilePop Game every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
