About

Winnow Wallet

Features

Winnow is a Bitcoin wallet for iPhone, iPad and Apple silicon Mac. Pay people and hold shared savings without a Winnow account. EVERYDAY BITCOIN Receive bitcoin with Taproot addresses. Review the recipient, amount and fee before sending. Save people and their payment cards, and add names to received payments. SHARED SAVINGS Hold bitcoin with people you choose and set how many approvals a payment needs. Share payment requests and collect approvals in the app. AUTOMATIC RECOVERY Supported wallets automatically back up encrypted recovery data to your private iCloud storage while Winnow is active. Recovery includes this phone’s signing key, wallet history, shared accounts, saved people and labels. The encryption key synchronizes separately through iCloud Keychain. Use the same Apple Account with iCloud Keychain enabled to restore on another device. Other owners’ signing keys are not included. Beginner mode shows Backing up, Backed up or Not backed up. A successful backup is shown only after iCloud acknowledges it. Winnow remains usable without an Apple Account or iCloud; keep a manual backup if cloud recovery is unavailable or disabled. Manual spending recovery requires a backup file containing both wallet history and recovery words. Recovery words alone cannot restore historical activity in this app. SIMPLE FIRST, ADVANCED WHEN NEEDED Beginner mode opens straight into the wallet. Advanced mode adds manual exports, recovery-word access, an automatic-backup switch, shared-wallet tools and network settings. Recovery is not live synchronization between devices. YOUR NETWORK CONNECTION Winnow connects directly to Bitcoin peers and checks wallet activity on your device. Mainnet startup uses saved peers, DNS and downloaded census data verified against the pinned publisher’s signature. No peer address list is bundled with the app. There is no advertising or in-app analytics. Bitcoin peers see your IP address, and transactions are public. Each optional explorer lookup asks for consent before sharing a transaction ID. External browsers use their own network settings. Network synchronization and automatic backup updates run while Winnow is active. TEST WITHOUT REAL BITCOIN Advanced mode includes the Signet test network. Signet coins have no monetary value.
