Keep the food you love. Make it fit you. Redish helps you understand packaged foods and create recipes around your tastes, goals, dietary preferences, and kitchen. Scan a UPC or EAN barcode, or type the digits, to review the matched product, available nutrition, ingredients, additives, and Redish score. Check the displayed product identity against your package. Missing catalog information is shown as unavailable rather than invented. For a homemade dish, take a food photo, choose a photo from your library, or describe what you want to make. Optional AI analysis asks you to review the food name before creating a recipe. You can correct the result and choose a finished quantity, such as a loaf, individual cookies, or one batch divided into equal portions. Recipes show ingredient amounts for the full batch and estimated nutrition for clearly described slices, items, or portions. Explore why an ingredient is included, request a replacement, adjust the recipe quantity, and keep favorites in your saved collection. Features include: - Food-photo capture and photo-library selection - Camera barcode scanning and manual UPC/EAN entry - Product nutrition, ingredient and additive details - Personalized recipe creation and ingredient changes - Clear finished-food quantities and estimated portion nutrition - Searchable Saved and Created recipes, plus scan history - Editable food preferences, AI permission controls, sign-out and account deletion An account is required. Subscription access, available plans, localized prices, and any eligible introductory offer are shown in the app before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled; use your App Store subscription settings to manage or cancel them. AI food analysis and recipe generation use OpenAI only after permission. Barcode catalog lookup and deterministic scoring do not require OpenAI permission. Product records can be incomplete or outdated. Photos cannot reveal hidden ingredients or allergens. Scores, recipe nutrition, and ingredient costs are educational estimates, not medical advice or an allergy guarantee. Always check the current physical package and the ingredients you use. Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Redish at none against Play Pantry's 1. Redish also leads on ads (none vs shown). Play Pantry's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks) and device support (3 vs 1). On price and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
