Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
AfroYap holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 37 and 12 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of Sapphi's written reviews are positive against 50% of AfroYap's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Sapphi ships an update every 3 weeks, AfroYap every 6 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
