About

Run Expert

Running coach, GPS run tracker and fitness tests: Run Expert helps you measure running benchmarks, plan interval training, and review sessions in one app. Whether you are getting back into running, starting a 5K program, or looking for a clearer routine, use practical tests and workouts to guide your progress at your own pace. Your data, test history, and training sessions stay together, so you can return to your benchmarks as your routine develops. RUNNING TESTS AND FITNESS ESTIMATES Choose from several field tests and find your results in your history: β€’ Beep test (Luc LΓ©ger): follow the audio beeps and progressive levels to get an estimated VO2max. β€’ VAMEVAL: run through progressive stages to estimate your maximal aerobic speed (MAS). β€’ Cooper (12 minutes) and half-Cooper (6 minutes): use the distance covered to estimate VO2max. β€’ Ruffier test: enter three heart rate readings to calculate the test index. β€’ Rockport Walk Test: enter your one-mile walk time and finishing heart rate. β€’ 5K time trial (VDOT): enter your time to see your VDOT and indicative training paces. These results are fitness estimates calculated from protocols and formulas. They are not medical advice or a diagnosis. TRAINING: INTERVAL WORKOUTS THAT FIT YOUR SESSION Open the Training tab to choose a ready-made program or build an interval session. The Gentle Start program guides you through the first steps toward 5K. Alternate effort and recovery with formats such as 30/30, fartlek, Tabata, and HIIT, or select sessions designed around different race distances. Set effort and rest durations yourself when you want a custom workout. Audio cues and spoken announcements help you follow each interval while you run. GPS RUNNING AND ACTIVITY HISTORY Start a GPS run to see distance, elapsed time, pace, and your route on a map. Set a target distance, from 5K to marathon, or choose free mode. Your runs are saved so you can revisit activity statistics and follow your training history. MUSIC AND PROGRESS TRACKING Listen to audio during a session using the in-app player, including local files. Review your profile, statistics, workouts, and test history. You can also share results and activities in the Community area. From the Gentle Start program to interval training, from the beep test to GPS running, Run Expert brings useful tools together so you can train with clear markers and keep track of your sessions. Paces and test results are indicative fitness estimates based on the information entered and test conditions. They do not replace medical advice. The call

Engine and Run Expert are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters β€” price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them β€” neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
