Celestial Simulation Experience the universe as it truly moves. Celestial Simulation is a high-fidelity, physics-based app that lets you explore and understand celestial motion through real simulationsβ€”not animations or guesses. Every event is driven by time, location, and real celestial mechanics. From eclipses and planetary motion to lunar occultations and chaotic three-body dynamics, the app turns complex astronomy into intuitive, visual experiences. Observer-Based Simulation Your location matters. Set your observing position on Earth and watch how celestial events change with latitude, longitude, and time. Every simulation adapts instantly to your chosen place and moment. Solar System Geometry Explore the mechanics of the inner solar system: - Annular and hybrid solar eclipses with umbra and antumbra geometry - Planetary conjunctions and minimum angular separations - Mercury and Venus elongations for optimal visibility - Retrograde motion visualized over days and weeks - Transits of Mercury and Venus across the solar disk Most simulations are continuous and time-accurate. Lunar Occultations See how the Moon moves through the sky: - Occultations of bright stars and planets - Local and global visibility bands - Geometry that explains why an event is visible from certain locations Three-Body Dynamics Go beyond classical orbits and explore real gravitational complexity: - Circular Restricted Three-Body Problem (CR3BP) - Lagrange points L1–L5 with stability insights - Chaotic motion in non-rotating frames - Extreme sensitivity to initial conditions - These simulations reveal how real spaceflight dynamics and celestial chaos work. Special Focus: Total Solar Eclipse 2026 (Europe) A total solar eclipse will cross Europe in 2026 β€” a rare and unforgettable event. Celestial Simulation lets you explore the full path of totality, simulate eclipse geometry from different locations, and understand how timing and position affect what you will see. Use the simulation to: - Compare observing locations across Europe - Visualize eclipse paths and shadow motion - Plan where and when to experience totality Whether you are preparing a journey or simply exploring the mechanics behind the event, the app helps you understand why the eclipse unfolds the way it does. Built for Exploration - Interactive time control - Clean, focused visualizations - Designed for learners, enthusiasts, and curious minds - No clutter, no gimmicksβ€”just the universe in motion Celestial Simulation is a pocket laboratory for understanding how the sky actually works. Whether you’re learning, teaching, or simply fascinated by celestial mechanics, this app lets you see the physics behind the beauty.

About

NightSkyLog

Features

NightSkyLog is the observing journal that lives at the eyepiece: every session with its site and sky, every object you bag, the gear you used, and the life lists that prove it happened. Start a session and grade the night the way astronomers actually do: seeing from boiling to excellent, transparency from murky to crystal, the Bortle class of your site, and the temperature. NightSkyLog computes the moon phase and illumination for the night on its own, and files sessions by observing night, so a 1 AM entry still belongs to the evening it started. The whole hunt ships in the box. All 110 Messier objects with their types, constellations, magnitudes, best months, and one-line field notes. The Moon and seven planets with what to look for on each. And 28 classic double stars, Albireo to Izar, with separations and colors. Log an object during a session and the matching checklist ticks itself off, with the date you first bagged it. The Tonight screen reads your log and the calendar: it suggests bright objects well placed this month that are still missing from your life list, shows tonight's moon, and charts your observing year: objects per month, your best night, and the kinds of objects you hunt most. Every object log carries the view through the eyepiece: which eyepiece, the magnification, a rating out of five, notes, and a sketch or photo straight from your library. Gear gets its own shelf: telescopes, eyepieces, binoculars, Barlows, and filters, with notes and how many nights each has worked. Enter focal lengths once and NightSkyLog computes magnification, exit pupil, and true field for every telescope and eyepiece pair, plus the useful ceiling for your aperture. WHAT YOU GET - Session log with seeing, transparency, Bortle class, temperature, and computed moon phase - Built-in catalog: 110 Messier objects, the Moon and 7 planets, 28 classic double stars - Life lists that check themselves off as you log, with first-bagged dates - Tonight's targets: seasonal suggestions drawn from your own gaps - Object logs with eyepiece, magnification, rating, notes, and sketch or photo - Gear shelf with magnification, exit pupil, and true field math - Session report PDF export - Sky quality reference: Bortle, seeing, and transparency scales in plain words - Syncs across iPhone, iPad, and Mac with iCloud FREE AND LIFETIME Free covers a real start: 5 observing sessions, full object logging with sketches, the complete Messier checklist, and your gear shelf. Lifetime is a single purchase that unlocks unlimited sessions, the planet and double star life lists, and the session report PDF, forever. No subscription. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account of ours and no tracking. Your log lives on your device and in your private iCloud, which we cannot read.
