Book ideas rarely arrive while you are at your desk. Jiraiya for iPhone is the notebook for catching them on the spot. Your notes sync through iCloud to your Mac with the same Apple Account, and the Jiraiya Mac app brings them into your manuscript. You write the book on Mac; iPhone is where you gather the material. CAPTURE ON THE SPOT โข Capture ideas with text, photos, or voice โข Add notes quickly from widgets, Siri, Shortcuts, or the Action Button โข Keep the capture time and, when permitted, location โข On supported devices, Sennin Mode suggests tags and writing prompts on device (requires an Apple Intelligence capable device) REREAD THE BOOK YOU WRITE ON MAC Browse books created on Mac and synced through iCloud, organized by act, chapter, and section. When rereading sparks a thought, save it as a new Field Note. DASHBOARD View the days, time, and characters you wrote on Mac, plus your KDP sales summaries, in Dashboard. Switch between Writing and Sales performance. In Writing, choose a book and a period (7 days, 30 days, 3 months, or 1 year). Records and summaries are created on Mac and arrive through iCloud; iPhone is view-only. Only time and character counts are recorded, never the text itself. KDP sales appear only after you explicitly enable sales summary sync on Mac. Original Excel files, ASINs, KDP Dashboard estimates, and Payment Reports are not uploaded to iCloud. JIRAIYA PRO Your subscription is shared with the Mac app. On Mac, unlimited books, EPUB Reader preview, PDF export, Focus Mode, EPUB export, and M4B export are Pro features. The free Mac version includes one book. Manuscript writing and file export also take place on Mac. iCloud sync requires the same Apple Account on each device. Jiraiya Pro is an auto-renewing monthly or annual subscription. The price appears on the App Store purchase screen. Breaking Editor is a writing app built for people who write for a living โ writers, journalists, reporters, editors, and bloggers. From interview notes to drafting, deadline management, email delivery, and WordPress posting, everything happens in one app. โ An editor built for focused writing A distraction-free text editor with line numbers, Markdown support, and a rock-steady typewriter display that never jumps while you type. Your work is saved automatically as you write. โ Interview notes with a voice recorder A dedicated note format for interviews: the date is recorded automatically, your location can be captured via GPS, and you can organize notes by interviewee (organization and name) and topic. Snap photos of documents with the camera, and record audio with a live level meter so you always know the recording is running. Recordings can be shared to transcription apps and other tools. Tap "Write" on any note to instantly create a draft from its content โ the note itself stays untouched. โ Deadlines, managed for you Track both recurring series and one-off assignments. When you deliver an installment of a series, the next deadline is created automatically. Tag assignments by publication, filter your list, and jump straight from a deadline into the editor. โ Line count conversion Set a characters-per-line width for each publication (for example, 11 characters per line) and the footer shows exactly how many lines your draft will occupy โ the way print media counts manuscripts. โ Deliver by email Compose delivery emails with the recipient's name and your greeting filled in automatically. The greeting template is fully editable, attachments can be sent as plain text (.txt / .md) or Word (.docx), and photos are attached with captions listed in the email body. โ Post to WordPress (Pro) Publish drafts straight from the editor to your own WordPress site โ as a draft or published immediately. Photos are optimized for the web, uploaded to your media library, and inserted with captions. Powered by WordPress application passwords; your credentials are stored securely in the device keychain. โ Your work on iPad, iPhone, and Mac (Pro) Breaking Editor is free to download, and every on-device feature is free to use. A single one-time purchase unlocks Pro: iCloud sync for your drafts, interview notes (including photos and recordings), deadlines, contacts, and settings across all your devices, plus WordPress posting. No subscription. Your data is stored only on your devices and in your own iCloud โ never on external servers. โ Made for - Writers and journalists juggling multiple deadlines - Reporters who want interview notes, recordings, and photos in one place - Editors organizing incoming and outgoing manuscripts - Bloggers who want to publish to their own site the moment a piece is done - Anyone who writes across iPad, iPhone, and Mac From deadline pressure to the joy of writing โ Breaking Editor.

Verdict
Jiraiya and Breaking Editor are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters โ price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them โ neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
