About

Heroes Unite

Heroes Unite is a side-scrolling beat 'em up set in China's Three Kingdoms era. Pick one of eight heroes and fight your way from the Yellow Turban Rebellion in 184 AD to the showdown at Wuzhang Plains in 234 AD. All ten stages are drawn from famous scenes in the classic novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Each stage takes about 3 to 4 minutes and ends with a boss fight. The first 2 stages are free to play, with all eight heroes available. If you enjoy them, a one-time purchase unlocks stages 3 to 10, the ending and Hard difficulty. There are no ads, no accounts and no data collection. Note: in-game text is in Traditional Chinese or Japanese (switchable in Settings), with short English labels on menus and buttons. EIGHT HEROES, EIGHT WAYS TO FIGHT Guan Yu's crescent blade is slow but clears half the screen in one swing. Zhang Fei is the toughest and easiest to pick up. Zhao Yun is fast with the widest dodge window. Sun Shangxiang's rope dart has the longest reach. Lady Zhurong throws flaming knives. Huang Yueying brings a mechanical arm and a shooting wooden drone. New: Zhuge Liang is a frail, slow strategist whose fan whips up wind that shoves enemies around, and whose stone formation sends soldiers astray. Gan Ning is the fastest hero and loves hitting from behind, even vanishing to reappear behind the farthest foe. Every hero has a combo string, a charged heavy attack, a special skill, an ultimate and a passive. Time a dodge perfectly and the game drops into slow motion. Combo, skill and ultimate effects are flashier now. Switch heroes anytime from the pause menu. TEN FAMOUS BATTLES Stage 1, Yellow Turban Rebellion: Zhang Jiao's talismans and lightning Stage 2, Hulao Gate: Hua Xiong holds the gate, Lu Bu waits behind it Stage 3, Changban: Cao Chun and the Tiger and Leopard Cavalry Stage 4, Luo City: Zhang Ren's arrow rain in the forest Stage 5, Mount Dingjun: Xiahou Yuan's lightning-fast charges Stage 6, Hanzhong: Xu Chu leads the way to Cao Cao himself Stage 7, Fancheng: Pang De marches in carrying his own coffin Stage 8, Yiling: Lu Xun sets the camps ablaze Stage 9, Nanman: Meng Huo must be beaten three times Stage 10, Wuzhang Plains: Sima Yi holds the line with the Wei army All ten backgrounds are repainted, and enemies and bosses have finer artwork. Bosses change tactics in their second phase. STRATEGY CARDS After each stage, pick 1 of 3 strategy cards that last the rest of the run. The 15 cards combine into very different builds. WEAPONS FROM THE WRONG ERA Crates, jars and barrels hide tech weapons (beam sword, thunder hammer, photon cannon, electromagnetic shield). You will also find food and fire and poison pots to throw. TWO PLAYERS, ONE DEVICE Connect a controller and a second player can join at any time. Co-op brings more enemies and an extra boss move, and you can revive a fallen partner by standing next to them. TV MODE AirPlay to an Apple TV (or use a cable) and the game fills the TV while your device becomes a status panel. Play with a controller, or two for couch co-op. EVERYONE CAN FINISH If you fall, continue on the spot as many times as you like, even in the free stages. Each continue makes you a little stronger, up to 3 times, but that stage's score is reduced and the rank is capped at B. CONTROLS On-screen joystick plus five touch buttons, which hide when a controller connects. MFi, PlayStation and Xbox Bluetooth controllers are supported. GAME CENTER 22 achievements and 5 leaderboards (score and fastest clear for 6 and 10 stages, best combo). Optional. FREE VS FULL VERSION - Free: stages 1 and 2, all eight heroes, co-op and continues - Full version (one-time purchase): stages 3 to 10, the ending and Hard difficulty - Reinstalled or switched devices? Tap "Restore Purchases" on the unlock screen - This is the only in-app purchase. No ads, no subscriptions Characters are drawn from Romance of the Three Kingdoms. All character designs, art and music are original to this game.
