For packaged food, the barcode scanner reads the printed label instead of estimating. Do I need an account to use MacroLog? No. There is no sign-up screen. You set your goals and start logging; the diary is stored on your device, and cloud backup uses an anonymous device identity if you turn it on. Does MacroLog work offline? The diary, your history, and the on-device food list work without a connection. AI photo logging, voice logging, and barcode lookups call out to a server, so those need one. Is MacroLog free?
