Beat Blocks is an interactive rhythm practice app built for players at every level. See the beat, build your own patterns, play along, and strengthen your timing with multiple ways to visualize rhythm. 4 Unique Visualization Modes: - Beat Blocks Mode: The signature dot-grid view. Notes and rests become clear geometric blocks, making rhythm structure easy to see and feel. - Circles Mode: Each beat becomes a colorful circle divided into slices for its subdivisions, then lights up in time as the rhythm plays. - Staff Mode: Practice with standard musical notation and connect your rhythm training to real-world sight-reading. - Jianpu (Numbered) Mode: A clean numbered-notation view for players who prefer Jianpu. Key Features: - Custom Rhythm Editor: Build and save your own rhythms in 4/4, 3/4, and 6/8. Create eighth-note patterns, triplets, dotted rhythms, syncopations, rests, and multi-measure exercises. - Expanded 6/8 Practice: Explore a dedicated set of 6/8 rhythm patterns designed for compound-meter training. - Course & Starter Library: Practice with ready-made rhythm groups, from basic pulse control to more advanced subdivision and syncopation. - Loop & Tap-Along: Loop any rhythm to internalize it, or test your timing with tap-along scoring and per-beat feedback. - Professional Metronome: Use high-quality sounds, count-in, tempo control, visual pulse, and flexible loop playback to keep practice precise. - Share & Import: Export custom rhythms as text and import rhythms created in Beat Blocks, including existing 4/4 exercises from earlier versions. - One-Time Unlock: Start with free practice content, then unlock full course and custom-rhythm playback with a one-time purchase. No subscription. No ads. Whether you are building a steady foundation or practicing complex meters, Beat Blocks turns rhythm training into a visual, creative, hands-on experience. See it. Build it. Feel it. Master the beat.
FingerLinga
Read full descriptionHide full description
FingerLinga is a fingering trainer for brass players. No microphone. No trumpet. Just your fingers and the screen. Three on-screen valves let you practice anywhere - on the train, in bed, or any place you cannot pull out your horn. Notes flow across a staff and your taps are scored with millisecond accuracy, so you can finally see which transitions are slowing you down. KEY FEATURES [Train both hands] Switch the dominant-hand mode in settings, and after each session you can also challenge yourself with the other hand. Training your non-dominant hand also makes your dominant hand smoother. Working the left hand at the same time helps the right hand move more freely too. [No mic, no instrument] Judgment is by touch, not by sound. Practice silently anywhere. [Millisecond-accurate tap judgment] Taps are sampled at 5 ms intervals with three-sample stability filtering, absorbing finger jitter while still measuring true reaction time. [13 patterns x 12 keys] Major, Natural / Harmonic / Melodic minor, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Locrian, Chromatic, Broken thirds, Arpeggios, Dominant 7th. All 12 keys with alternating up/down passes. [4 difficulty tiers] Beginner (BPM 40-79) / Intermediate (80-119) / Advanced (120-159) / ONI (160-210). Judgment windows tighten with each tier. [4-beat latency calibration] A 4-beat tap calibration compensates for device and Bluetooth earphone latency, giving free-app precision rivaling pro tools. [Trumpet type switching] B-flat / C / E-flat soprano trumpet. Display, transposition, and key signatures stay in sync. Great for transposition reading drills. [A = 442 Hz default] Wind ensemble standard 442 Hz as default. Slider for any reference tuning you prefer. [Fingering Report] Aggregates transition timing (for example, 1+2 to 2+3) and graphs your weakest finger movements. A unique feature from a control engineer who happens to be an amateur trumpet player. [MIDI import + bundled melodies] Drop in any .mid file as your practice tune. Ode to Joy, Twinkle Twinkle, and Mary Had a Little Lamb are bundled. [Long tone practice] Half-note long tones in C, F, and B-flat. The sound plays, but it is the silent finger discipline that builds embouchure habits. [Visual metronome + tutorial] A treble-clef flash visual metronome keeps the beat. The first-launch tutorial can be replayed any time from Settings. [3 languages + light theme] Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese. Light and dark mode. GREAT FOR - Beginners drilling fingerings and chromatic scale practice - People who have never played trumpet, and seniors keeping their fingers limber - Visualizing which finger transitions slow you down, for efficient practice - Finger warmups on the go, or before practicing on cold days - Training the left hand alongside the right for smoother right-hand movement WHO IT IS FOR - Wind band students wanting to drill on the way to school - Pre-warmup before opening the horn case - Quiet practice at home or in a hotel - Older players or seniors training their non-dominant hand for brain workout - Anyone struggling with transposition reading - Anyone curious about picking up a brass instrument PRIVACY No network requests. No microphone. No accounts. All practice data lives only on your device.
