Recall

Recall helps you remember what you learn โ€” using science, not willpower. Most flashcard apps let information slip away because they show you cards on a fixed schedule, or whenever you feel like it. Recall uses FSRS, a state-of-the-art spaced repetition algorithm, to show each card at the exact moment you're about to forget it. You study less. You remember more. STUDY SMARTER WITH SPACED REPETITION Every time you review a card, you grade yourself: Again, Hard, Good, or Easy. Recall uses your answer to calculate exactly when to show that card next โ€” intervals grow from days to weeks to months as your memory strengthens. The algorithm adapts to you. CREATE YOUR OWN DECKS IN MINUTES Making a deck is as simple as a spreadsheet. Write your cards as a CSV file โ€” front, back, and an optional extra column for notes โ€” and import it with one tap. You can create decks in any text editor, in Numbers or Excel, or by asking an AI like Claude to generate one for you in seconds. DRILL MODE โ€” PRACTISE WITHOUT LIMITS Finished your due cards but want to keep going? Switch to Drill mode. You can run through any deck as many times as you like without touching your spaced repetition schedule. Great for the night before an exam. VISUAL DECKS WITH IMAGES Import a ZIP file containing images alongside your CSV and put a photo on the front of each card. Perfect for bird identification, flag recognition, anatomy diagrams, art history, or any subject where a picture is worth a thousand words. WHAT YOU CAN STUDY โ€ข Languages โ€” vocabulary, verb conjugations, phrases โ€ข Science & medicine โ€” anatomy, biology, chemistry โ€ข History โ€” dates, events, people โ€ข Geography โ€” flags, capitals, maps โ€ข Coding โ€” syntax, functions, concepts โ€ข Music โ€” theory, composers, terminology โ€ข Anything you can write on a card ICLOUD BACKUP Your decks and review history sync automatically via iCloud. Switch to a new phone and pick up exactly where you left off.

About

Etch

Features

Etch is a place for the things you want to remember. It sits somewhere between a notes app and flashcards: quick to capture, gentle to revisit, without the pressure of a study app. Capture in whatever way is fastest. Type a quick note, dictate it with your voice, or clip a passage while you read. In Safari, select the text and send it with the Share button in the toolbar, and Etch keeps both the passage and a tappable link back to its source. Every card is either a simple fact or a question with an answer. A question gives you a small moment of recall before you reveal the answer, which is what makes revisiting feel like reminiscing rather than testing. Revisit a handful at a time, whenever you feel like it. No streaks, no due dates, no counts piling up. You come back to what you saved because you want to, not because an app is nudging you. Optional on-device AI. On supported devices, Etch can help shape what you capture into a clean card. It is entirely optional, it runs on your device, and it only ever works on the text you enter. Nothing is sent away to do it. Made to travel. The interface is in English and French, and you can create cards in many supported languages, so your notes stay in whatever language you think in. Yours, and private. Your cards sync across your own devices with iCloud, and you can export a full backup any time. Etch collects no data about you.
