The camera that listens. Talk to your camera and it does the rest. Viddycom is the first natural-language, voice-controlled iOS camera app for people who shoot alone. You just talk to it like a person. No running back before the shutter goes. No reaching for the button. TALK TO IT LIKE A PERSON There's nothing to memorise. Say "take a photo", "start recording", "zoom in a bit" — however it comes out of your mouth. It's listening from the moment you open it, so once you're in position you never touch the phone again. ASK FOR THREE THINGS AT ONCE "Blur the background, zoom in, then take three photos." It does them in order — so you can set the whole shot up from across the room. WHAT YOU CAN ASK FOR, AND WHY YOU'D WANT TO Blur the background Softens whatever's behind you, so people look at you and not the mess in the room. The expensive-camera look, without the expensive camera. A burst of photos — several in one go Say "take five photos" and it fires off five in a row. Instead of one stiff pose, you get a handful to choose from, so there's always a good one. Changed your mind halfway? Say "cancel" and it stops, keeping the ones already taken. Slow, smooth zoom Say "zoom to five, slowly" and it glides there. Pinching with your fingers looks jerky; this looks like someone else is operating the camera for you. Recording that waits for you "Start recording in five seconds" gives you time to set the phone down and get into place — so your videos don't all start with you lunging back to your seat. Stay the right size in shot Say "track me" and it adjusts as you move closer or further away, keeping you the same size on screen, so you don't shrink into the background every time you step back. Steadier video Say "steady mode on" before you start walking and the shake comes out — handheld footage that doesn't look handheld. A grid for straight shots Ask for a grid and rule-of-thirds guides appear, so your horizon is level and your subject sits where you want it. Framing guides for each platform Ask to frame for TikTok, Reels or YouTube and that platform's crop appears on screen, so you leave room for captions instead of cropping your own head off. It is a viewfinder guide only — your photo or video is saved exactly as shot. Take it back Say "bin that" straight after a shot and it's gone. No hunting through your camera roll later to delete the bad one. MADE FOR FILMING YOURSELF Built for anyone shooting alone — TikTok, Instagram, or just getting a photo of yourself that doesn't look like a selfie. Front or back camera. Photos or video. Upright or on its side. ACCOUNT Viddycom needs a free account so your settings and subscription follow you between devices. Sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address. Tally is a video editor built for dancers, with the practice tool and the journal living in the same place. Loop it, slow it down, drill it until your body knows it. Then post it without opening a second app. EDIT IT WITHOUT LEAVING • The frame follows you through spins, floorwork, and a crowded studio • Auto sync clean music track onto your video • Crop for TikTok, Reels, or Shorts without the shot jumping around • Motion effects right on the beat (shakes, zoom pumps, hits, flashes) • Blur or cover everyone who didn't ask to be in your video • Quick color fixes and cool effects LEARN THE DANCE • Tap where the "1" lands. Tally finds the beat and maps the counts for the whole song • Loop any 8-count on repeat. • Slow way down without the music sounding weird • Mirror the video so it matches your side KEEP EVERY PRACTICE • A calendar of what you actually danced, day by day • Drop a note right on the video. "chest up on 5" pops up on that exact move • Label by class, style, or routine, and filter to one YOUR VIDEOS STAY YOURS No account. No upload. Nothing leaves your phone. That's why the privacy tools are built in - you can post your dance without posting your whole class. In English, 简体中文, 한국어, and Español.

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Tally at 5.0 against Viddycom's 2.5. Tally also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Viddycom sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Tally asks for nothing beyond the download.
Tally holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tally has 10 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.
Viddycom ships an update every 3 weeks, Tally weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
