Math Zen is a math practice app built for real exam performance, not a calculator that does your homework for you. Work through algorithmically generated problems that cover the topics and skills tested on real exams. The adaptive mastery-based progression system tracks your accuracy and adjusts difficulty automatically: struggle with a concept, and it comes back for review; master it, and you advance. Practice offline, anytime, with zero distractions. AP CALCULUS AND SAT MATH PREP Math Zen has dedicated exam paths for the tests US students actually take: - AP Calculus AB: 30 exam-style templates: particle motion, optimization, related rates, the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, and accumulation functions. - AP Calculus BC: everything in AB plus series, parametric equations, and polar coordinates. - SAT Math: 41 templates across Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving and Data Analysis, and Geometry and Trigonometry, with word problems and real-world data. Exam prep problems include multi-part questions, where each part builds on the one before it. Also included: A-Level Maths, Gaokao, Suneung, Kyōtsū Test, Abitur, Baccalauréat, Selectividad, EXANI-II, ENEM, GSAT, VWO Wiskunde, and Högskoleprovet paths. 24 TOPICS, 570+ PROBLEM TEMPLATES Six sections covering math from arithmetic through university-level content: Algebra: Arithmetic, Algebra, Complex Numbers, Logarithms Precalculus: Functions, Graph Analysis, Hyperbolic Functions, Sequences & Series Calculus: Limits, Derivatives, Integrals, Differential Equations, Partial Derivatives, Parametric Equations, Polar Coordinates, Multiple Integrals, Laplace Transforms Geometry & Trigonometry: Geometry, Trigonometry Linear Algebra: Vectors, Matrices, Abstract Algebra Discrete Math: Probability, Statistics 156 subtopics. 570+ algorithmically generated templates. Every session is different. KEY FEATURES Mastery-Based Progression: A five-level bucket system tracks your accuracy within each subtopic and advances you from easy to hard as you demonstrate understanding. Structured, adaptive practice, not random drilling. Theory Built In: Every subtopic carries the rules its own problems need, with worked examples. Tap Show the rule the moment an answer comes out wrong, or open it from the header mid-problem. Mistake Journal: Every wrong answer is captured automatically. Come back later and retry that exact problem type with fresh numbers, until the concept clicks. Resolve them all for a small celebration. Visual Problems: Interactive graphs, geometric diagrams, and animated transformations bring abstract concepts to life. Offline First: The whole app works without internet. Practice on a plane or subway; progress syncs when you reconnect. Dark Mode: Follows your system setting, or pin it to light or dark. No Ads, Ever: Clean, focused, distraction-free. No ads, no coins, no lives. 11 Languages: English, Russian, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Dutch. PERFECT FOR - Students preparing for AP Calculus AB/BC, SAT Math, ACT Math, or IB Math - High school students in Algebra 2, Precalculus, or Calculus - University students in Calculus I/II, Linear Algebra, or Differential Equations - Self-learners who want structured math practice at their own pace HOW IT WORKS 1. Choose a topic or an exam prep path. 2. Math Zen generates a fresh problem (a quick quiz of one concept) matched to your current level. 3. Solve it: type your answer or select multiple choice. 4. Right answers advance you. Wrong ones show the rule and go to your mistake journal. SUBSCRIPTION Math Zen is free to start with access to core topics. School mathematics as one path: concept, worked example, practice, review. Grade 7 through Grade 12, following Korea's 2022 national curriculum. No account. No internet required. ■ It traces back to where you actually got stuck If you keep missing quadratic equations because the real gap is in factoring, a hundred more quadratics will not help. This app collects the concepts behind your wrong answers, walks back the prerequisites and says where to restart. A lesson you reach that way opens even if locked, and stays open. ■ Wrong answers come back just as you are about to forget Every miss goes into Mistakes and returns after 1, 3, 7, 16 and 35 days. Get it right and the interval grows; miss it again and it restarts. Tag why you missed it — a slip in the math, a misunderstood idea, or a misread problem. Slips do not count against concept mastery, and come back after three days instead of one. ■ Formulas are typeset, and read aloud properly Rule thickness, radical slant and exponent size follow typesetting rules, so nothing blurs when you enlarge the text. With VoiceOver, formulas are read in plain English: "x squared", "1 over 2", "n choose r". Graphs on concept cards have coefficients you can drag. ■ When the exam is two weeks away Enter the scope and the minutes you can give each day. The plan follows prerequisite order and keeps the last two days for review. If time is short, it drops the hardest problems and says so. ■ Room to work it out by hand Every problem has a writing space; on iPad, problem and working sit side by side. Your working is saved per problem and comes back in Mistakes. Handwriting is not graded. ■ One card for a parent A week's work as one card — time studied, problems solved, lessons finished. No rank, no comparison, and nothing goes out unless the student taps Send. ■ Also · Concept map — what you know, what you do not, and the path · Statistics — streak, progress, causes of mistakes, solving time · Answer stats — how often a problem is missed. Off by default · Problem of the Day widget — free-section only, so a tap never hits a paywall · Review reminders — off by default; at most once a day · English or Korean — follows your device language; progress carries over · iCloud sync · iPad two-pane · Dark Mode · Dynamic Type ■ What is included All 13 courses of Korea's 2022 curriculum: Grade 7, Grade 8, Grade 9, Common Mathematics 1 and 2, Algebra, Calculus I, Probability and Statistics, Calculus II, Geometry, Mathematics for AI, Economic Mathematics and Workplace Mathematics — 91 units, 461 lessons, 4,610 problems. Practice Sets from Korea's nationwide Grade 11 practice exams (much like the PSAT in the US), March, June and September 2026. The original questions are not included: each item pairs a solution walkthrough with our own similar problem (90). Five levels: Basic, Standard, Advanced, Expert and Challenge. Challenge problems tie together several lessons of a unit — 304 across ten courses. All 143 graphs and diagrams are drawn from coordinates, not images. Problems keep their Korean setting, so amounts of money are in won. ■ How much is free The opening lessons of every unit are entirely free — concepts, examples, practice. One further lesson gives concepts and worked examples, with the paywall at its problems. See how the app teaches before you buy. ■ Purchases One pack per course — buy only the courses you need. One-time purchases, not subscriptions: nothing recurs, nothing expires. Family Sharing is supported; content updates are free to everyone who bought. ■ Privacy No sign-up, no login, no developer server, no ads, no advertising identifier — only anonymous usage statistics. Reporting a problem sends what you wrote and your answer. Answer stats are off by default. Everything else stays on your device.
