Swyn
Read full descriptionHide full description
Other breathing apps set the pace and expect you to keep up. Swyn goes the other way. Your in-breath is yours, however long it happens to last, and Swyn takes it from there. Hold anywhere on the screen. Swyn opens under your finger and keeps opening for as long as you hold. Nothing to reach, nothing to count. Lift your finger and Swyn sits through the pause that follows, then draws the out-breath back down at the length you picked. Only the out-breath is automatic, and that is deliberate. Watching the clock on a long one is what makes it hard to hold. Swyn does the watching. It is built to be looked at, too. Swyn warms as you breathe in and cools as you breathe out, wisps drift off as it goes, and its face softens the longer you stay. The day and night appearances are drawn separately rather than one dimmed into the other. Haptics run underneath all of it, so you can close your eyes and still follow the breath. DAILY MOMENTS Three optional cues: Start gently in the morning, Reset in the middle of things, Wind down at night. Switch on any of them, or none. Set your times by dragging across a full day that shifts from morning light to night as you move, or type them in exactly. Every day, or weekdays only. Swyn will not chase you. A moment you miss stays missed. Nothing gets rescheduled, no catch-up turns up later, and Swyn never remarks on how long it has been. They are silent, ordinary notifications, scheduled on your iPhone and nowhere else. MAKE IT YOURS ⢠Out-breath length, from an even 1:1 to a long 1:3 ⢠Day and night appearance, or follow your iPhone ⢠Haptics, breath countdown, natural or fixed-length sessions ON YOUR WRIST The Apple Watch app is a real app, not a remote. It works with your iPhone locked, in another room, or off. Hold the screen to breathe in, or switch on Turn your wrist and start a breath by lowering your arm. The whole breath arrives as haptics, so you never have to raise your wrist to see it. QUIET BY DESIGN No account, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Swyn collects nothing. Nothing you do in it leaves your device. Swyn is made for general wellbeing. It is not medical advice, and does not diagnose or treat any condition.
