Exportveil

Exportveil shows what your photos, videos and documents give away before you send them, removes it, and then checks the clean copy again. Everything happens on your iPhone or iPad. No account, no uploads, one price. NEW IN 3.0 β€’ Clean Files: add photos and videos from your library, or PDFs and .docx, .xlsx and .pptx files from Files. Each one gets a plain-language report grouped by what it reveals: location, dates, names, device, captions and hidden content. β€’ Photos stay sharp: JPEG, HEIC and PNG photos are cleaned without re-compressing the picture. The image data is copied byte for byte; only the metadata changes. β€’ Verified clean copies: after cleaning, Exportveil reads every copy again and shows "Clean copy verified", or lists exactly what is still there. β€’ Videos: recorded location, device, dates and author are removed while the audio and video are copied without re-encoding. β€’ PDFs: author, creator app, dates, XMP, comments and their authors, attachments, scripts and form data are removed by rebuilding the pages. Text stays selectable; visible comments can be kept as they look. β€’ Office documents: author, last saved by, company, manager, template paths and editing time are removed; reviewers become Reviewer 1, Reviewer 2. Comments are deleted, tracked changes accepted and hidden text removed in .docx files. Photos inside documents are cleaned too. β€’ Choose what to remove: Everything, Location only, or your own mix. Optional neutral file names (Photo 1, Document 1). β€’ Share, save to Photos or save to Files in one step. Open files from other apps with Share > Exportveil. β€’ Share-sheet cleaning: pick photos, videos, PDFs or Office files in Photos, Files or Mail, choose Exportveil Clean, and share or save the verified clean copies without opening the app. Very large files (over 40 MB, videos over 1 GB) are sent to the app instead. β€’ Shortcuts: "Clean File Metadata" and "Check File for Hidden Data" actions. β€’ Text Check now also finds phone numbers, street addresses, people's names (on-device), card numbers and IBANs (checksum-verified), US Social Security numbers, API keys and tokens, private keys, MAC and IPv6 addresses, and your own watch-list terms. Replace them with readable labels like [EMAIL-1], salted tokens or [REDACTED], then share or copy the result. β€’ Paste button, Guide tab, and try-it sample files with made-up data. WHY IT MATTERS Photos can carry the exact spot they were taken, the time, the phone model and serial numbers, and a thumbnail from before you cropped. Many ways of sending files keep all of it, including email, file attachments and some messaging apps. The share sheet's Location switch removes location only. Documents carry author and reviewer names, company fields, comments and deleted text from tracked changes. WHAT EXPORTVEIL REMOVES Photos: GPS coordinates, altitude and direction, IPTC place names, capture and edit dates, camera and lens make, model and serial numbers, owner and artist names, captions and keywords, XMP and IPTC blocks, maker notes, embedded thumbnails, content credentials and PNG text blocks (including AI generation settings). Orientation and color profile are kept. HONEST LIMITS Metadata cleaning cannot change what is visible: faces, street signs, screens or names on a page. Exportveil points out emails and phone numbers it sees in document text, but you edit visible content yourself. PDF clean copies do not keep links, bookmarks or fillable fields. Spreadsheet and slide comments, speaker notes and hidden sheets are reported for you to remove in your editor. Unusual files are re-encoded at high quality, and the report says so. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, ads, analytics, tracking or network features. Photos are chosen with the system picker, so Exportveil only sees what you pick; saving to your library asks for add-only access. Originals are never modified, and the temporary workspace is deleted when you clear it or leave the app.
