School Notes was born in the classroom. As a teacher, I needed a simple, reliable way for staff and students in my district to take notes, annotate handouts, and stay organized — without the complexity (or cost) of apps that try to do everything. I built SchoolNotes to solve that problem, and now I'm sharing it with educators and students everywhere. Three ways to take notes, one place to keep them: • Handwrite with Apple Pencil — A full drawing canvas with multi-page support, zoom, and all the tools you'd expect from PencilKit. Great for math, science diagrams, or just jotting things down. • Annotate PDFs — Import worksheets, handouts, or articles and draw right on top of them. Grab PDFs from Files, Safari, or any app using the built-in Share Extension. • Type text notes — For outlines, study guides, or anything that's faster on a keyboard. Stay organized with Classes: Create color-coded classes that match your schedule. Assign notes to one or more classes, drag to reorder, and find what you need fast with search and flexible sorting. Switch between list and grid views to browse your notes the way you prefer. Sync across your iPads with iCloud: Turn on iCloud sync and your notes follow you between devices. Works with personal Apple IDs — and if your school uses managed Apple IDs, SchoolNotes works great offline too. Share your work: Export any note as a PDF or image. Need everything at once? Batch-export your entire notebook with a single tap. Features at a glance: ◦ Apple Pencil drawing with full tool picker ◦ Multi-page drawing notes ◦ PDF import and annotation ◦ Text notes ◦ Color-coded class organization ◦ Assign notes to multiple classes ◦ Favorites for quick access ◦ Search across all notes ◦ Sort by date modified, date created, or title ◦ List and grid views ◦ Export as PDF or image ◦ Batch export all notes ◦ Share Extension for quick PDF import ◦ Optional iCloud sync ◦ No account required — your data stays on your device ◦ No ads. No subscriptions. Just notes. School Notes is free to use with all features included. If you find it helpful, there's an optional tip jar in Settings to support continued development. I'd love to hear how you're using School Notes in your classroom. Feedback and feature requests are always welcome!

Your child reads aloud. Readigo listens, catches every misread word, and shows you both exactly what to practice next. Built for ages 6–12, Readigo turns reading practice into something your child will actually do without a fight. They pick a story, tap Start, and read out loud. Misread words turn red on the spot, so they see each stumble as it happens instead of hearing about it later. HOW THE COACHING WORKS Readigo uses speech recognition tuned for young readers' voices, then grades four things: accuracy, fluency, pace, and clarity, using phonics rules from the Science of Reading. Most apps for this age don't score reading aloud. Readigo is built to do exactly that. WHAT YOUR CHILD GETS • A story library they'll actually pick from: adventures, mysteries, manga, and short educational stories • Igo, a friendly lavender dragon who listens, cheers, and levels up with every book they finish • Word-by-word feedback in the moment, so small mistakes don't harden into habits • Storyteller mode for bedtime: the app reads the story aloud when your child just wants to listen WHAT YOU GET AS A PARENT • A progress report with real numbers, week by week: books read, minutes practiced, accuracy percentage, and reading pace in words per minute • A clear answer to "is this actually working?" instead of vague praise badges • Ten minutes of daily practice you don't have to referee A GOOD FIT IF • Your 6-to-8-year-old is sounding out words and needs a patient listener • Your 9-to-12-year-old can read but rushes, mumbles, or skips words • You homeschool and want fluency numbers without running timed tests yourself • Reading practice at your house tends to end in tears, theirs or yours THE DETAILS • App interface in English, Spanish, French, German, Polish, and Ukrainian • Requires iOS 16 or later on iPhone and iPad • Readigo Premium opens the full library and coaching Download Readigo, hand your child the phone, and listen from the kitchen. The first unprompted "one more page?" usually shows up within the first week. Readigo Premium is an auto-renewable subscription. • Subscription length: 1 month or 1 year (choose in the app) • Price: shown in the app before purchase, charged to your Apple ID • Auto-renews unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Readigo at 4.2 against School Notes's 1.0. Readigo also leads on ratings volume (5 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.6). School Notes's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. School Notes sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Readigo sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Readigo holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Readigo has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
School Notes ships an update every 2 days, Readigo every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
