Linear Algebra World (LAW) presents linear algebra in a way that is accessible yet rigorous. It is designed for students of engineering, mathematics, data science and related fields, and may also serve as a visual presentation tool for instructors. The app combines three roles: • matrix calculator • interactive algorithm step visualizer • carefully designed learning pathway through linear algebra Our goal is to present linear algebra as a coherent system built on a small set of axioms. Definitions are separated from consequences, logical dependencies are made explicit, and notation is kept minimal to reduce cognitive load. Visual tools are used extensively—even for abstract topics such as the four fundamental subspaces—so that geometric intuition and algebraic reasoning reinforce one another. The curriculum begins with vectors as coordinates and matrices as collections of vectors, and currently covers topics through QR factorization. Upcoming additions include OLS, eigendecomposition, SVD, and PCA. This app builds on our earlier Matrix Solver Step by Step, a highly rated matrix computation app used by students for several years. LAW adds a structured curriculum along with LaTeX import and export. LAW is designed for serious learners who want to understand the structure behind the computations. For quick step-by-step matrix calculations, Matrix Solver Step by Step may be the more direct tool. Your constructive feedback is essential to the continued refinement of the app.

MatrixViz makes linear algebra and computer graphics understandable by turning the maths into interactive visuals. Built for complete beginners, MatrixViz lets you drag vectors, reshape matrices, move cameras, adjust projections, and immediately see what each formula does. Every learning module connects a plain-language idea to a guided experiment, a live visual, the underlying equation, and a symbol-by-symbol explanation. LEARN LINEAR ALGEBRA VISUALLY • Explore vectors in 2D and 3D • Turn matrix columns into draggable handles • See rotation, scale, shear, reflection, and composition happen live • Understand determinants, inverse matrices, span, basis, and independence • Discover eigenvectors by finding the directions a transformation cannot turn UNDERSTAND COMPUTER GRAPHICS • Follow coordinates from object space to the screen • Inspect model, view, and projection matrices • Compare perspective and orthographic projection • Learn cameras, frustums, lighting, normals, depth, blending, winding, and culling • Experiment with Metal shader patterns using beginner-friendly visual controls LEARN BY DOING • Guided lessons paired with the real interactive modules • Always-visible formulas and plain-language symbol keys • Sliders and direct manipulation instead of code-first controls • Saved sandbox presets for returning to experiments • Adaptive layouts for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro • Light and dark appearance options MATRIXVIZ PRO Optional MatrixViz Pro unlocks iCloud lesson-progress sync, educator presentation mode, and 1080p matrix-animation export across supported Apple platforms. MatrixViz Pro Monthly and MatrixViz Pro Yearly are auto-renewable subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when the purchase is confirmed. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple Account Settings. Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Linear Algebra World at none against Linear Algebra's 1. Linear Algebra World also leads on iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.6). Linear Algebra's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 5 days). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
