MapleMind
Read full descriptionHide full description
MapleMind is a tutor for students in Grades 1 to 12, built on each Canadian province's curriculum. It teaches your courses lesson by lesson, helps with homework without doing it for you, and gives you quizzes and practice exams. AT A GLANCE • Grades 1 to 12, in every province and territory. • Math, science, English, French, social studies, French as a second language and English as an additional language: 765 courses. • Free to use every day, with daily limits. MapleMind Pro removes them. • iPhone, iPad, Android and the web (app.trymaplemind.ca), all on one account. • The app and the tutor work in English, French and 12 other languages. Course and lesson names stay in each course's language. HOMEWORK HELP Take a photo of the worksheet, upload a PDF, or type the question. The tutor works through a similar example, then asks you to try yours the same way. Ask for practice and it writes questions like yours, marks your answer, and shows how to get it. Guided mode is on unless it's turned off. The tutor explains and asks you questions, but it won't hand over the answer to your own homework. YOUR COURSES Choose your province and grade to see your actual courses, such as Alberta's Mathematics 20-1 or Ontario's Civics and Citizenship, Grade 10. Each follows the province's official outline. A lesson is a short conversation with the tutor: an explanation, worked examples, quick questions, and a skill check at the end. QUIZZES AND EXAMS Every lesson, unit and course has a quiz, in the formats your course uses, from multiple choice to labelling a picture and written answers. Before a question reaches you, a second AI model answers it on its own, without the answer key. If the answers don't match, the question is thrown out. There are practice versions of 113 provincial exams, including Alberta's diploma exams, Ontario's EQAO and OSSLT, BC's graduation assessments and Quebec's ministry exams. Each follows the real exam's sections, topic weights and time limits. Afterwards you see your mark by section, the skills that cost you marks, and how ready you are. STUDY AND PROGRESS In Study, review any course with a round of one question type, a flashcard deck, or an open conversation with the tutor. The Learn tab suggests your next lesson and the skills due for review, and before an exam it points to your weakest skill. A calendar and streaks show how regularly you study. FOR PARENTS • Set up an account for a child with no email address, or link to your teenager's own account when they invite you from it. • The Parent Dashboard shows the last week, month or term: days studied, skills learned, quiz and exam results, skills that need work, and exam readiness. A weekly email with the numbers is optional. • Set quiet hours and a daily goal, decide whether guided mode can be turned off, and ask your child to practise a skill. • One family plan covers up to 10 students, at the same price for each. PRIVACY AND SAFETY • A child under 13 (14 in Quebec) needs a parent's verified consent, and the parent holds the account. • No ads. We don't sell personal information, and conversations aren't used to train AI models. • Answers are written by AI (OpenAI's models) and can be wrong. Any answer can be reported from the app. WHAT IT COSTS Free: 4 activities a day (a lesson, quiz, exam, study round or flashcard deck) and 30 messages to the tutor. MapleMind Pro: no limits, for CA$9.99 a month or CA$49.99 a year. New subscribers can start with a 7-day free trial. MapleMind Pro renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings.
