Welcome to ED Rush. The shift just started. Patients are waiting. Labs are pending. Consultants are not answering pages. A patient refuses medication after reading something online. Your coffee is gone. Manage a busy emergency department where priorities change constantly and interruptions never stop. Triage incoming patients, order tests, perform interventions, and make quick decisions while new problems keep arriving. You cannot do everything. You just have to decide what matters most right now. Handle multiple patients at once, run codes when someone crashes, and keep the department moving before things spiral out of control. Some shifts go smoothly. Most do not. DAILY CHALLENGE Four cases a day, fixed for everyone. All four land on the board at once, on a Hard board with the full phone, and the challenge ends when the last one leaves. Who you see first is part of the test. One recorded run a day, practice runs after, a streak to protect, and a share card with your score and four colored squares so you can compare with anyone who played today without spoiling the cases. Plus a tip of the day. STUDENT MODE A slower department for learners. Four patients max, arrivals spaced out, and an attending looking over your shoulder. Get a warning before a harmful order or an unsafe discharge, a nudge when a result sits unread or a patient is getting worse, and a full case review the moment every patient leaves: the diagnosis, the workup it wanted, the traps, and three teaching points to take with you. Done early? Tap NEXT to bring in the next patient. Over 150 cases with teaching content. Scored, never recorded. FEATURES - Over 160 clinical cases spanning chest pain, stroke, trauma, sepsis, pediatrics, psychiatry, and the everyday bread and butter - Daily Challenge: the same four cases for every player, new set every day, with streaks and a share card - Order labs, imaging, and POCUS, then act on what comes back - A medication system with real consequences: the right drug helps, the wrong one has a price - Full code simulations with rhythm checks, RSI, and decisions under a running clock - Dynamic patients whose conditions change while you are busy elsewhere - Consultants with opinions, and a call history in the chart so you can reread what they said - Interruptions that never stop - Custom order sets, as many as you want - A detailed end-of-shift debrief: every patient, every decision, every point - Rare Coffee Rush bonuses that briefly speed up every action - Humor inspired by familiar emergency department moments - Easy to learn. Hard to master. Different every time you play. IMPORTANT NOTICE ED Rush is a fictional entertainment game inspired by healthcare environments. It is not intended to provide medical advice, clinical training, or professional guidance. Scenarios and outcomes are simplified for gameplay, built around common emergency medicine cases rather than strict clinical accuracy. Nothing in Student Mode replaces your preceptors, attendings, or institutional protocols.

Verdict
ED Rush and Last Call both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of ED Rush's written reviews are positive against 50% of Last Call's. ED Rush also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 5 days). Last Call's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.6). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ED Rush sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Last Call sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for ED Rush against 4.8 for Last Call. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ED Rush has 50 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of ED Rush's written reviews are positive against 50% of Last Call's.
ED Rush ships an update every 2 days, Last Call every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
