Find care you can afford, and know what it costs before you go. ClearCost is free. If you don't have insurance, we'll show you community health centers and free clinics near you — many charge based on your income and see you regardless of your ability to pay. If you do have insurance, you can see what your plan has negotiated with each hospital. WITHOUT INSURANCE Tell us what kind of care you need in plain language — a checkup, an urgent problem, a scan, a prescription — and we'll show you places near you that can help, closest first, with how they charge and what to ask for when you call. WITH INSURANCE Search any procedure by name or code and see what hospitals near you charge, alongside the rates your plan has negotiated. READ YOUR BILL Photograph an itemized bill, an EOB, or a Good Faith Estimate. We pull out the line items, show you what each code means, and tell you what you can do next. Scanning is free and unlimited, and your bill is read on your device. WHAT WE WON'T DO We won't show you a price we can't stand behind. If we don't have a number from a named source, we say so and tell you who to call instead. We don't rank hospitals as good or bad, and we don't tell you a price is a bargain — that's your call to make, not ours. Prices come from the machine-readable files that insurers and hospitals are required to publish under federal transparency rules, and from Medicare's public quality ratings. Currently covering North Carolina. FREE, ALWAYS - Every price we have - Find low-cost care near you - See what your plan negotiated - Scan as many bills as you need - One price watch CLEARCOST PRO - Unlimited price watches - Unlimited saved procedures - Weekly checks, with an email when a price drops Pro pays for the watching, not the knowing. ClearCost gives you cost information, not medical advice. Always confirm final costs with your provider and your insurer. About

CompareCare

Every hospital in America is required by federal law to publish what they charge. Nobody told you. Until now. CompareCare shows you real hospital prices for over 200 common medical procedures before you get care. Compare what hospitals charge across 175+ US metro areas, side by side. WHAT YOU CAN DO Look up procedures like MRIs, colonoscopies, blood tests, ER visits, lab work, and outpatient surgeries. See cash prices ranked from lowest to highest so you know where to go before you owe. With CompareCare Plus, see insurance-negotiated rates for 100+ insurers, find the best value near you, and save searches and hospitals. COMPARE FIRST, THEN CALL These are hospital facility prices, not a full estimate of your bill. Doctors, anesthesia, and other providers usually bill separately. Use CompareCare to see which hospitals charge less, then call the hospital for an itemized estimate before you book. HOW IT WORKS Hospitals are federally required to publish their prices under the Hospital Price Transparency Rule (45 CFR Part 180). CompareCare takes those published price files, cleans them up, and makes them searchable. These are the hospitals' own published numbers, not our guesses. WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM Every price on CompareCare comes from hospital machine-readable files published under federal law. When a price looks wrong, we hide it rather than show you a number we can't stand behind. FREE TO SEARCH. NO ACCOUNT NEEDED. Browse hospital prices for free. No sign-up required. CompareCare Plus unlocks insurance rates, saved searches and hospitals, and more starting at $4.99/month. Subscribe with your Apple Account; creating a CompareCare account is optional. CompareCare is not a healthcare provider, insurer, or financial advisor. Always verify costs with your hospital and insurer before making decisions. Verdict

The call

ClearCost and CompareCare are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters — price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.

Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. ClearCost sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month and CompareCare sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
