Turn reading time into play time! Read 2 Play is the fun, simple way for kids to earn screen time by reading books. Tap "Read" to start earning. Tap "Play" to spend it. Parents set the conversion rate, so 1 minute of reading can equal 1, 2, or 3 minutes of gaming. Here's where it gets exciting: as kids read, they unlock collectible creature cards. 198 unique creatures across 6 elements, 6 rarities and 3 battle roles, each with its own artwork, special powers and battle stats. Kids at the same level unlock different creatures, so every collection is their own. It's like building a real trading card collection, powered by reading. Once a day, kids can battle a sibling, or the Wild Ones if they read solo. Every battle is three quick rounds of choices: pick a creature, then Strike, Guard or unleash a Special. Younger kids get Underdog Spirit when they fall behind, so battles stay close and fair. Finishing a book earns an exclusive Book Rare card after a quick Brain Boost math challenge matched to your child's age. A daily goal ring shows how close each kid is to today's reading goal, and after a long read every reward shows on one screen. Reading streaks unlock streak-only creatures, and an optional, anonymous leaderboard shows how their reading stacks up. For parents, Read 2 Play is simple and secure. You set the rules: choose how much reading each kid needs for play time, in plain words like "15 min reading = 10 min play", all protected by your parent PIN. See this week's reading at a glance with minutes per day, streaks, books finished and a reading heat map. Add multiple children to one household, adjust time banks, or delete all data anytime. You're always in control. Read 2 Play is private by design. No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, no third-party SDKs. Everything stays on your device and your personal iCloud account. The only exception is the optional leaderboard: off by default, turned on by a parent, and it shares just a nickname, city and reading score. All data syncs automatically across your family's Apple devices via iCloud. Start a reading session on the iPad, check the balance on your iPhone. The free version includes 1 kid, starter creatures, and full reading and gaming timers. Upgrade to Read 2 Play+ once for lifetime access to unlimited kids, all 198 creatures, battles, holographic card effects, Focus Mode sounds and family statistics. Kids hatch their own dino from an egg, pick its element, and train it by answering math questions. Each correct answer makes their dino stronger. Then they battle a ladder of 100+ rival dinos — every question they nail lands a hit, every miss takes one. Beat the rival, level up, climb higher. Built for ages 5-8 with grown-ups in mind: • Math levels from counting to multiplication & division, so kids pick the challenge that fits • 10 dinosaur species to unlock — from T. rex to Stegosaurus to Velociraptor • 10 elemental powers — Fire, Earth, Water, Lightning, Sun, Moon, and more • Three life stages per dinosaur (baby → teen → adult) as your dino grows • Hand-painted dino art, kid-readable typography, big tap targets • A grown-up math gate keeps purchases safe • 100% ad-free — no ads, no third-party tracking, no chat, no outbound links HOW IT WORKS 1. Build your dino — choose a species, pick an element, give it a name. 2. Train — answer practice questions to earn XP and level up. 3. Battle — climb the rival ladder. Each question is one attack. 4. Champion — beat every rival to crown your dino. UNLOCKABLES Beat rivals and complete challenges to unlock new dinosaurs, elemental powers, and visual styles. Plus a free daily level-up for every dino. DINO ADVENTURE PRO A one-time purchase instantly unlocks every dinosaur and every element. Restore Purchases supported. Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Dino Adventure at 8 against Read2Play's 1. On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Read2Play sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Dino Adventure sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Read2Play against 5.0 for Dino Adventure. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dino Adventure has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
