Areaplane vs Field Area Measure

Measure the spaces you're planning. Areaplane turns floor plans and maps into clear area and distance measurements. Trace a room, outline a property, or measure a path — then keep your results organised in one place on iPhone and iPad. MEASURE YOUR FLOOR PLANS Import a floor plan or blueprint from an image or PDF. Set the scale using a known distance, then draw polygons, rectangles, and length lines. See measurements directly on the plan as you work. MEASURE ON THE MAP Find an address and trace areas or distances on standard, satellite, or hybrid maps. Outline gardens, buildings, and outdoor spaces, with measurements calculated from real-world map coordinates. PLACE POINTS WITH MORE CONTROL Precision placement zooms in so you can choose the exact spot, then returns to your overview. Prefer drawing directly? Switch Precision off. Select a saved measurement to highlight it, then edit its corners or move the shape, with Undo, Cancel, and Save close at hand. USE UNITS THAT MAKE SENSE Work in feet or metres, with automatic display rules for larger measurements. Switch from feet to miles or square feet to acres, and from metres to kilometres or square metres to hectares. Choose your own thresholds or turn automatic units off. KEEP YOUR WORK TOGETHER Name your measurements, revisit your saved view, and find projects with search, filters, and a compact list. Duplicate or delete multiple projects together. Exchange compatible project files with the Areaplane web app. START WITH A SAMPLE Explore the included Floor Plan and Map Plan samples to try the tools before starting your own project. Samples don't use your free project allowance. GO FURTHER WITH AREAPLANE PRO Unlock unlimited projects and measurements, measurement folders, PDF reports with plans and totals, iCloud sync, additional units, and appearance options. Plotrace turns your phone into a land measuring tool. Walk the boundary of a field and let GPS trace it, or tap the corners on a satellite map — either way you get the area and perimeter in seconds. Built for farmers, landowners, surveyors, estate agents, contractors and anyone who needs a quick, defensible record of a piece of land. MEASURE YOUR WAY • Walk mode — carry your phone around the boundary and the path is recorded as you go • Tap mode — place corners by hand on high-resolution satellite imagery • Distance mode — measure a fence line, a track or a pipeline run • Circle mode — set a centre and a radius • Cut-outs — draw a pond, a building or a rocky patch inside a plot and its area is subtracted from the total UNITS THAT SUIT YOU Acre, hectare, bigha, guntha, cent, kanal, marla, square metre and square foot. Distance in metre, kilometre, foot, yard, mile, chain and furlong. Pick your defaults once and every screen follows, with two more units always shown alongside. WORKS WHERE YOU WORK GPS needs no signal bars. Measure in a field with no data connection and everything syncs the moment you are back online. Open the map over your land once before you set out and the imagery is ready when you arrive. KEEP A PROPER RECORD • Name every measurement and add a description • Attach photos straight from the field • Add notes as work progresses • Organise with coloured tags and folders • Search and filter your whole history EXPORT ANYTHING • PDF report with a real satellite map of the plot • JPEG image for a quick message or a printout • KML for Google Earth • GPX for handheld GPS units • CSV list of coordinates • DXF for CAD and professional GIS • Or export everything you own as a single .zip WORK AS A TEAM Group measurements into a project and share it with a join code. Give each person the right level of access: a Viewer opens and exports, a Surveyor adds their own measurements, an Editor changes boundaries, notes and sharing. Everyone is notified when the project changes. ON EVERY DEVICE Sign in with Apple, Google or email and your measurements, photos and projects are waiting on any device you use. FIELD TOOLS A compass, a coordinate converter, and area and distance converters, for the moments between measurements. A NOTE ON ACCURACY Plotrace measures with the GPS in your phone. In open ground that is typically accurate to within a few metres; trees, buildings and heavy cloud widen that. It is built for planning, quoting and record keeping — a legal boundary still needs a licensed surveyor. PLOTRACE PRO Plotrace is free to measure with. Pro removes the limits and unlocks unlimited saved measurements, projects and team sharing, and every export format. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
