MicroLearing
Read full descriptionHide full description
This microlearning application is designed to provide a structured and engaging learning experience through short, interactive lessons and gamification elements. The app includes a traditional onboarding flow where users sign up, log in, and complete a guided setup. After onboarding, users land on a dashboard that displays their overall progress, earned badges, current lesson, and recent activities. Users can access structured learning paths, each consisting of multiple lessons. Upon completing lessons, users earn points and badges based on their performance and behavior. A streak system is implemented to encourage daily engagement, following standard streak logic. Each lesson rewards users with points (e.g., 15 points per lesson), which contribute to their ranking on the leaderboard. This leaderboard allows users to compare their progress with others and stay motivated. The app also includes quizzes after lessons to validate learning and assess user understanding. The current lesson is always highlighted to guide users on what to complete next, while a recent activity section keeps track of their latest actions. Learning paths are dynamically structured, and new paths can be generated using AI based on user data and behavior. Different badges are awarded based on different user activities and achievements. Additional features include a subscription system for premium access, dark mode for improved user experience, and an option for users to delete their account. The overall system focuses on improving user engagement, consistency, and personalized learning through a gamified approach.
Newlings

Read and listen to real English news at your level, from A1 to C2. Newlings rewrites new science, technology and art stories every day at six English levels. Switch a story's level with one tap and read it simpler or richer. Tap any word for a plain English definition, IPA and an example, and listen to the whole story read aloud. FIND YOUR LEVEL Take the placement test, at most 15 questions in about five minutes, or pick your level yourself. No account is needed to start. READ AT YOUR LEVEL - Word cards show a plain English definition. Turkish speakers can choose Turkish translations in Settings. - Every story at A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. - Tap underlined words, phrasal verbs and idioms to see the meaning, IPA and an example from the story. Hear each word at normal or slow speed. - If a story feels too hard or too easy, mark it at the end of the story. - Search the stories, share a story's link, or share a word card as a picture. - Stories you opened today stay available without a connection. LISTEN - Your phone's own English voice reads the story at your level, and the word it is saying lights up in the text. - Go back or forward one sentence at a time, at normal or slow speed. A1 and A2 start slow. - The player stays at the bottom while you scroll; open it to see the sentence in large type. TAKE THE QUIZ Finish a story, then answer five quick questions: true or false, pick the headline, fill the gap, match the words and multiple choice. Quick right answers build a combo for bonus XP; running out of time never makes an answer wrong. BUILD YOUR VOCABULARY - Save words from any story. - Spaced repetition brings each word back at growing intervals, from one day up to 90 days. - Play with your words: Flashcards, Match, and the Ladder, which climbs a story you have read from A1 to C2. - In a new story, underlined words you already know are marked as known. KEEP A DAILY HABIT - Choose your daily goal: one story, two stories, or two stories and your word review. - Earn XP and keep your streak; every seven days of your streak earn a streak freeze (you can hold up to two), which protects a missed day. - Collect badges and see how far you are from the next level. - Get a reminder at the time you choose, with the day's first story. - See a level suggestion when your results point to another level. You always decide. ON iPHONE AND iPAD On iPad, Newlings has its own layout, with the story list and the story side by side. HOW STORIES ARE MADE Newlings stories are rewritten with AI from the facts the original source published, and checked before they are published. Every story names its source and links to the original report, and every cover drawn by AI is labelled. Word cards, dictionary entries and quiz questions are also written with AI. YOUR DATA Start without an account. Link your Apple or Google account to keep your progress on another device. Delete your profile and progress in Me > Account at any time. Newlings has no ads and does not track you across other apps. Word levels use the CEFR-J Vocabulary Profile (Tono Laboratory, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies) and the Octanove Vocabulary Profile C1/C2 (Octanove Labs, CC BY-SA 4.0).
