988 Memo is a privacy-first quick-capture memo app. One tap, one thought, saved. INSTANT CAPTURE A floating capture button is always one tap away. The keyboard is up, the cursor is ready, your idea is recorded the moment you stop typing. No save button, no syncing wait, no friction. PLAIN OR RICH, YOUR CALL Toggle each memo between distraction-free plain mode and a block-based rich editor with headings, lists, code blocks and quotes. Pick the right mode for the moment instead of getting one forced on you. VOICE TO TEXT, ON DEVICE Long-press the microphone to start recording. Audio is transcribed locally on your iPhone. The recording and the transcript both stay on this device, never uploaded. INLINE TODO AND REMINDERS Drop a checkbox anywhere in any memo. The TODO tab gathers them all into a single sortable list. Schedule local reminders for any task, with daily, weekly or location-based triggers. APPLE PENCIL SKETCH Open the canvas, switch colors, vary stroke width, draw or annotate. Sketches are saved as part of the memo and shown as thumbnails when you reopen the note. BUILT-IN VAULT Mark any memo as private. Locked memos are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. The master key lives only in the iOS Keychain. Locked memos do not appear in search, recents or widgets until you authenticate. 100 PERCENT LOCAL No account. No cloud sign in. No telemetry. Notes stay on your device. You can export an encrypted backup file to iCloud Drive, Files or AirDrop on your own terms. WHO IT IS FOR Power users who want both Apple Notes simplicity and Notion flexibility, without a subscription. Privacy-conscious professionals who refuse cloud notes. Multi-modal capturers who switch between typing, speaking and sketching all day. Built by independent developers who got tired of subscription note apps. Free, with no in-app purchase in version one.
