Olsen is the card game Norwegians learn around the kitchen table and on the cabin trip. It belongs to the Crazy Eights family, so if you know that game, you know most of this one. I made this version so I can play it with friends wherever they are, each on their own iPhone, iPad or Mac, and against the computer when nobody else is free. Match the top card by suit or rank. An 8 goes on anything, and you choose the next suit. If nothing fits, draw up to three cards before you pass. When someone is down to one card, the game calls Olsen for them, so everyone knows who to stop. The first one to empty their hand wins. PLAY WITH FRIENDS Invite up to three friends through Game Center. The round starts as soon as one of them has joined, and AI players can take the empty seats. Tap Rematch to go again at the same table, and the end screen keeps count of who has won the most rounds. If someone loses the connection, an AI player keeps their seat warm until they are back. Three of the achievements are only for games with friends. PLAY ALONE Take on one, two or three AI opponents on easy, normal or hard. They have names and a bit of personality, and the hard ones count cards. No internet needed, so it works on a plane or at a cabin with no coverage. LEARN IT IN ONE ROUND Never played Olsen? The tutorial plays a round with you and explains each move as it happens. The full rules are in the menu when you want to check something. FOR KIDS, ADULTS AND SENIORS Three themes with their own look and their own opponents. Leo the Lion and Bella Bear sit at the kids table, and the senior theme has larger text and Churchill as an opponent. PLAY IT YOUR WAY Tap a card twice, swipe it up, or drag it onto the pile. Cards that do not fit bounce back to your hand. On iPhone the whole game works with one hand. WHAT YOU GET • Up to four at the table over Game Center, each on their own device • AI players in the empty seats • Rematch and a running count of who wins • One to three AI opponents on three difficulty levels • Play offline against AI • Wild 8s that change the suit • A tutorial that teaches the game in one round • 23 Game Center achievements • Kids, adult and senior themes • iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch for a quick solo round • English and Norwegian Deal the cards and see who gets to say Olsen first.

Everyone plays at once. No turns, no waiting. Four hands race to dump their cards into a shared middle. Spot an opening, take it before someone else does, and keep your pile shrinking. Hesitate and the space is gone. FAST, HONEST OPPONENTS Play against one, two or three rivals across four speeds, from Relaxed to Sharp. They react in real time, make real mistakes, and get faster as you do. Nobody waits their turn. A SEASON TO CLIMB Every game earns season points on a ladder from Novice through Apprentice, Contender, Expert and Master to Elite. Keep a daily streak going, chase 21 trophies, and watch your place on the leaderboard move. TOURNAMENTS Three rounds against a full field: an opening round to 30, a semi-final to 50, and a final to 75 with the difficulty rising at every stage. Only the top players advance. A HIDDEN SECOND GAME Reach Contender and the Royal Game of Ur unlocks: a 4,500-year-old board game of dice, captures and safe squares, with its own tutorial. Once earned it stays unlocked, even after a season resets. LEARN IT PROPERLY An eight-chapter interactive tutorial walks through the whole game at your own pace, with a worked example of how scoring actually decides a round. Rewind, pause, or skip ahead whenever you like. BUILT TO RESPECT YOU No ads. No account. No sign-up. Works completely offline. Your progress syncs through iCloud and can be exported as a backup code you keep yourself. Choose how long a game lasts: play to 30 points for something quick, or to 150 for a long evening.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: NRTZ at none against Olsen's shown. NRTZ also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.2). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
