YAWA Canada vs Parallel

YAWA Canada is a clean, fast, ad-free weather app built for Canadians — and for Canadians who travel. ENVIRONMENT CANADA ALERTS Be the first to know. Add Canadian cities to your favourites, then tap the notification bell to activate alerts. YAWA Canada monitors up to 3 favourite Canadian locations in the background and delivers Environment Canada weather alerts — snowfall warnings, fog advisories, special weather statements, and more — directly to your phone. Tap the notification and you're taken straight to that city's forecast. RADAR Watch the weather move. YAWA Canada includes animated radar playback powered by RainViewer, with pinch-to-zoom and pan support so you can focus on exactly what's coming your way. Smooth frame-by-frame playback shows you where precipitation is now and where it's been in the last 90 minutes. 7-DAY or 10-DAY FORECAST Open-Meteo powers the forecast — a high-quality, open weather service used by developers worldwide. You get daily high/low temperatures, precipitation probability, wind, and a plain-language condition summary for every day of the week. AIR QUALITY YAWA Canada shows you the current US Air Quality Index alongside a plain-English description — Good, Moderate, Elevated — so you know what you're breathing without having to decode a number. COMFORT & SUN See how the air actually feels with the Feels Like temperature, dew point comfort summary, and humidity. Track sunrise and sunset times with a visual sun arc so you always know how much daylight is left. WIDGETS YAWA Canada includes Home Screen widgets in two sizes. The large widget shows your current temperature, condition, and high/low alongside an hourly forecast — everything you need at a glance without opening the app. The compact widget keeps it simple with just the current temperature and condition for your selected location. TRAVELS WITH YOU Add locations anywhere in Canada, the United States, or Mexico. YAWA Canada uses the same clean interface and real-time data no matter where you are — perfect for Canadians heading south for the winter or crossing the border for a road trip. CLEAN BY DESIGN - No ads, ever - No subscriptions - No account required - Light and dark mode - Supports multiple saved locations - Background alert monitoring for up to 3 favourite Canadian cities YAWA Canada is free because weather information should be. Built for Canadians, using open data sources — Open-Meteo for forecasts, Environment Canada GeoMet for alerts, and RainViewer for radar. Simple. Honest. Canadian.

Parallel is a weather app for people who live between two scales. Most apps make you choose: Celsius or Fahrenheit, one or the other. Parallel shows both, every time — current conditions, the hourly timeline, and the full 10-day forecast, all in °C and °F at once. No toggling. No mental math. No "wait, is that hot?" WEATHER, BOTH WAYS Every temperature appears in both scales, side by side. The current reading, the highs and lows, feels-like, dew point — all dual, all the time. LEAD WITH YOUR UNIT Pick which scale comes first with a single setting. Think in Fahrenheit but check on family abroad? Grew up Celsius but live in the States? Put your number up front and keep the other one right beside it. WHO IT'S FOR – Households where people grew up on different scales – Immigrants and expats keeping one foot in each system – Travelers who don't want to recalibrate every trip – Anyone who's ever had to Google "20C in F" EVERYTHING YOU EXPECT – Current conditions and next-hour precipitation – Hour-by-hour timeline – Full 10-day forecast – Humidity, dew point, highs and lows – Powered by Apple Weather Parallel keeps both scales in view so you never have to translate the weather again.
