Track chronic illness without turning your health into homework. Tended is a privacy-first health journal and symptom tracker for people living with long-term symptoms, pain, fatigue, flares, and appointments that never quite fit into ten minutes. Log in seconds, notice possible patterns, and prepare for doctor appointments without streaks, guilt, accounts, analytics, data collection, or external servers. LOG IN SECONDS, EVEN ON HARD DAYS When thinking is hard, Tended keeps logging light. Record a day rating, symptoms, pain, medications, energy, sleep, mood, bowel changes, food, triggers, activities, periods, photos, and notes at your own pace. Use Apple Watch, widgets, Siri, the Lock Screen, or the full app when opening your phone feels like too much. Duplicate yesterday, edit only what changed, or describe your day in your own words with optional on-device AI. BUILT FOR CHRONIC ILLNESS Tended is made for fluctuating conditions where a normal habit tracker does not fit. Use it as a chronic illness journal, symptom tracker, pain tracker, medication tracker, flare tracker, energy tracking tool, sleep tracking companion, and body map. Condition starter sets help you begin with relevant symptoms and triggers for fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, lupus, endometriosis, PMOS / PCOS, POTS, EDS, migraine, MS, IBD, PMDD, and many more. SEE PATTERNS IN YOUR OWN DATA Your journal can become more useful over time. Tended may help you notice possible links between symptoms, medications, food, sleep, activity, weather, Apple Health averages, menstrual cycle phases, flares, and better days. Insights are based on what you log yourself. They are self-reported observations, not clinical findings, so you stay in charge of what feels useful. PREPARE FOR APPOINTMENTS When brain fog arrives before your appointment, Tended helps you bring the important parts with you. Use Doctor Mode, appointment notes, body map history, medication adherence, symptom trends, focused visual reports, and PDF health reports to explain what has been happening. Tended+ unlocks longer history, deeper pattern insights, trigger experiments, appointment-ready PDF health reports, focused evidence and care PDFs, and CSV export for people who want to go deeper. STAY CONNECTED, WITHOUT OVERSHARING If you choose, Tended can help you share small practical updates with someone you trust through Supported, the carer companion app. Send a quiet check-in, a quick need, or a regular summary without exposing your whole private journal. FREE FOREVER. NO GUILT. Every tracking feature is free and unlimited. There are no streaks, no shame, and no "you missed a day" messages. Tended+ is for people who want longer-term insight and appointment-ready reports. The free journal stays useful on its own. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No analytics. No data collection. No external server. Your journal lives on your device or in your personal iCloud. Apple Health data is read only when you allow it. Optional on-device AI features run on your device where available; your journal is not sent to Cocoacorn servers. Use Tended gently, at your own pace. Bring what helps. Leave the rest. MEDICAL DISCLAIMER Tended is a personal health journal, not a medical device or clinical tool. It is not a substitute for medical advice or emergency support. Content is based on what you log yourself and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions. Tended does not monitor journal entries for distress. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency or crisis support. An honest record of how you have actually been. A minute a day adds up to a picture nobody can reconstruct from memory in a fifteen-minute appointment. JointSignal turns your daily check-in into a report worth handing your rheumatologist. THE ONE RULE The app never fills in a blank for you. A question you skip stays unanswered — it never quietly becomes a zero, and a day you missed never appears on a chart as a good day. A report is only useful to a clinician if everything on it is something you actually said. WHAT IT TRACKS • The daily check-in — pain, overall status, fatigue, sleep and mood, each a single tap on a 0–10 scale, and morning stiffness in minutes. Flare days get a switch. Under a minute, by design. • The 28-joint count — every joint your rheumatologist scores, plus the neck and both feet, including the finger joints. Tap targets built for hands with active RA. • Apple Health, read-only — steps, walking speed, stair speed, sleep, heart rate and blood pressure sit directly under what you reported, on one shared time axis. The app requests no write access and never alters your Health record. • A calendar you can read at a glance — every day coloured by how bad it was, flare days marked, and gaps shown as gaps. • Medicines and adherence — dose by dose, with changes marked on every chart. A dose you never answered is excluded from the percentage, not counted as missed. • Side effects, bloods and appointments — with reference ranges, and reminders so a blood draw is never missed before a review. • Questions for your specialist — saved as they occur to you, then worked through in a view built for large type and one hand. • The weather, if you want it — temperature, humidity and air pressure under your pain score. The app shows both and draws no conclusion. • Your data, yours — export it as CSV or JSON, for a spreadsheet or an AI assistant. Blanks stay blank. • Backups that happen without you — one a day to your own iCloud Drive, thirty kept. THE REPORT Two or three pages of black ink on white paper: coverage, trends, joint counts, adherence, blood results with reference ranges, flare days and your notes. Every figure traceable to something you entered. Export it as a PDF and send it however you like. PRIVACY No account. No server. No analytics, no tracking, no third-party code of any kind. Your record lives on your phone, and your backups go to your own iCloud Drive. The developer never receives your health information — the app contains no code capable of sending it. Weather is optional and off by default. Switched on, it sends your approximate location — never anything you recorded — to Apple's weather service, and does not store it. WHAT IT IS NOT JointSignal does not diagnose anything and it is not medical advice. It records what you tell it and shows you the patterns. Your rheumatologist does the rest. DAS28 is calculated from joint counts you enter yourself, and is labelled self-reported everywhere it appears — it is not a substitute for your rheumatologist examining your joints. Never delay seeking medical attention because of something this app did or did not show you. WHY IT EXISTS I'm Scott. I have rheumatoid arthritis. I went looking for an app that would let me track it properly and could not find one — the apps I tried covered several conditions passably rather than one condition well, and none of them read Apple Health. So I wrote this one for myself, and then thought other people living with RA might want it too. SUBSCRIPTION JointSignal is free to download, and recording is free for your first 7 days with nothing to sign up for. After that, recording new days needs a subscription. A lapse never removes what you recorded — reading, the charts, the calendar, the report and every export stay yours.
