Plans change. Current keeps up. Most planners break the moment your day stops going to plan. Current is built for what actually happens: you start late, a meeting runs over, something urgent lands in the middle. One tap, and your remaining tasks reshuffle around the commitments that can't move. WHY IT FEELS DIFFERENT Every task is either Fixed (the 2pm meeting, the school run) or Flexible (everything else). Current's cascade engine flows your flexible tasks around your fixed ones — so your plan always matches reality, without you rebuilding it by hand. • Start your day when you actually start — your schedule rebuilds from that moment • Drag one block and watch the rest of your day ripple into place • Pause your day when life interrupts, and pick up exactly where you left off • Add buffers for commutes, prep, and breathing room — they're scheduled like the real time they are YOUR DAY DOESN'T END AT MIDNIGHT Working late, or on a night shift? Current rolls your day over during your off-hours — not at the stroke of midnight — so a 1am task still belongs to tonight, not tomorrow. PLAN ONCE, REUSE FOREVER • Recurring tasks fill your week automatically • Save any day as a template and apply it in one tap — or schedule it to apply itself • Capture ideas in the Inbox now, slot them into a day when you're ready CONNECTED, NOT COMPLICATED • Two-way calendar sync: your tasks show up as events, your events show up on your timeline • Per-task reminders, plus an optional morning briefing before your day starts • A home-screen widget with what's next PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account required. Your plans stay on your device unless you choose to sync them. No ads. Current is for people who plan carefully and still get interrupted. Structure, without the rigidity. Your day, reorganized. Free to use. Current Pro unlocks recurring tasks, unlimited templates, calendar sync, buffer time, custom reminder timing, and unlimited pauses. About

Task Cat

Features

Make room for a little focus, with cats for company. Task Cat is a cozy focus timer for study, work, and reading. Choose one thing to work on, set your time, and settle into a hand-drawn cat café. A small session is a good place to start. FOCUS AT YOUR PACE • Set a session from 5 to 90 minutes, with pause and resume. • Take a 5-minute break after a completed session, then start another when you are ready. • Choose Study, Work, Reading, or another activity and set a daily time goal. SEE YOUR SMALL STEPS ADD UP • Look back at daily records, weekly and monthly charts, and time by activity. • Follow your progress on a paw-print calendar and see your completed-session streak. • Keep the time you worked, even when you finish a session early. YOUR QUIET CAT COMPANY • Meet three café cats and occasional visitors. • Watch them stretch, groom, play, and find a cozy place to nap. • Get closer with the in-app camera, save favorite moments to your journal, and share a café photo. • Bring cat widgets to your Home Screen. A CAFÉ WITH YOUR OWN LITTLE TOUCHES Use coins for toys, food, treats, beds, and cushions. Shop items are consumable: each play or feeding uses one item. Placing a bed or cushion uses one from your inventory; it stays until you remove or replace it. Moving it costs nothing extra. Removed or replaced furniture does not return to your inventory. You can try furniture before buying it for free. The basic timer, café, and progress tracking are free. Every 240 minutes of completed focus sessions earns 1 coin, with time carried over between sessions. Breaks, paused time, and sessions ended early do not earn coins. Optional in-app purchases add 1, 3, or 8 coins. These are consumable purchases, not subscriptions. Coins do not expire. No account registration or ads. Records, photos, coins, and items are stored on your device. There is no account sync or purchase-history restoration of your coin balance after reinstalling the app or changing devices. Start with one small session. Your café companions are waiting. Verdict

The call

Current and Task Cat are too close to call on the numbers: across 5 compared parameters — price, ads, in-app purchases and device support among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.

Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Current sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Task Cat sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
