Tomato

You don't have a focus problem. You have a "where do I even start" problem. Type the task you've been avoiding. Tomato's AI breaks it into 25-minute steps โ then starts the first one. That's the whole app. Built for ADHD brains and anyone who freezes in front of something big. HOW IT WORKS 1. Type what you're avoiding โ "finish my thesis", "do my taxes" 2. Tomato splits it into 3-4 steps you can actually begin 3. Tap once. The timer runs, and a Live Activity keeps it on your Lock Screen Your first 3 AI breakdowns are free. No account, no sign-up. FREE, FOREVER โข Full Pomodoro timer โ focus, short break, long break โข Custom durations, intervals and daily goals โข Infinite focus mode โ long-press the clock to count up with no limit โข Tasks with voice dictation and automatic categories โข Daily stats, session count and your focus streak โข Live Activity, Dynamic Island and Home Screen widgets โข A daily reminder at the hour you actually focus best โข Dark mode and a true-black OLED theme โข Everything stored on your device. No ads. No trackers. No login. TOMATO+ 7-day free trial, then $4.99/month or $29.99/year. Cancel anytime. โข Unlimited AI task breakdown โ never stare at a blank page again โข AI Focus Coach โ reads your real focus history and tells you which hours to protect โข Weekly, monthly and yearly stats, plus an annual contribution heatmap โข Time-of-day analysis โ find the hours your brain actually works โข Always-On Display, custom alarm sounds, vibration control and headphone mode โข Premium typography (Inter, Space Grotesk, Nunito, Poppins) and custom colour themes WHY TOMATO IS DIFFERENT Every other focus timer assumes you already know what to work on. That assumption is exactly where most people get stuck. Tomato decides the first step for you, then starts it. PRIVACY Your focus history stays on your device, and you can back it up locally whenever you like. AI features send only the text you type โ a task title, or a short summary of your session history for coaching โ to DeepSeek, our AI processor, which operates from China. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used to identify you. No ads. No trackers. No account required. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Bulletlist
Read full descriptionHide full description
Bulletlist is an outliner. One list, nested as deep as your thinking goes, and nothing else in the way. Every line is a bullet. Press Return for the next one, Tab to move it under the one above, and keep going. Zoom into any bullet to make it the whole screen, then walk back out through the trail at the top โ so a long outline is read a room at a time instead of all at once. Built for keyboards Bulletlist takes the shortcuts you already know from the outliners you have used before, without inventing new ones. Move a bullet with Shift-Command-Up. Complete it with Command-Return. Jump to any bullet by name with Command-K. Press Command-/ for the whole list, in the app, grouped by what it applies to. Built for thumbs too Swipe a row to indent it. Long-press to pick it up and drop it anywhere, at any level. The editing bar rides the top of the keyboard instead of hiding under it, and the back gesture goes back through the bullets you zoomed into. Yours, and readable without us Your outline lives in your own storage under your own account. Google Analytics measures how the app is used โ screens opened, and counts of bullets added, completed and moved โ and never receives a bullet, a note or a search. There is no advertising identifier, nothing sold, and no third party watching you type. Export the whole thing as an OPML file whenever you like, and it opens in any outliner. Works offline The app is on your device, not in a browser tab. Write on a plane and it syncs when you land. Edits made on two devices are merged rather than one overwriting the other. Nine colour schemes Light and dark are separate from which colours those two words mean. Paper is ours; the other eight are Solarized, Gruvbox, Everforest, Stone, Dracula, Catppuccin, Nord and GitHub, each with both of its halves, for people who already know which one they want. Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Bulletlist at none against Tomato's 1. Bulletlist also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 9 days). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
