Belim
Read full descriptionHide full description
Belim is a tracking assistant for people living with lower back pain and lumbar disc herniation. It does not diagnose, treat, or prescribe personalised exercise. Its job is simpler and more useful: record your pain, make the change visible, and let you walk into an appointment prepared. LOGGING TAKES SECONDS Pick your pain level with one tap. Mark where the pain radiates โ lower back, hip, thigh, calf, foot โ on a touch map. Add a trigger: prolonged sitting, driving, heavy lifting, poor sleep. You can also log through Siri without opening the app. RADIATION TRACKING In disc herniation, how far the pain travels down the leg can be a more meaningful sign than its intensity. Belim follows that change and makes it visible when it moves. FLARE PERIODS Mark the start of a bad stretch and close it when it ends. Belim measures how long it lasted and how severe it became โ the two things a clinician asks about. TREATMENT MARKERS Mark the day physical therapy started, your medication changed, or you had an appointment. It appears as a vertical line on the chart, and the averages before and after are shown side by side. Belim does not judge whether a treatment worked; it shows what changed and when. A SUMMARY FOR YOUR DOCTOR An appointment lasts eight to ten minutes and most of us say "last month felt worse, I think". Belim summarises your trend, radiation changes, painkiller use and most frequent triggers on a single page. Not a raw table โ a readable summary. MOVEMENT BREAK REMINDERS Prolonged sitting is one of the hardest positions for the lower back. Belim reminds you to stand up during the hours and at the interval you choose. SITUATION CHECK If you don't know where to start, a few questions show how urgently you should see a clinician. It does not diagnose; it helps you recognise symptoms that should not be delayed. YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU Records are stored only on your phone. No account, no internet connection required. No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no data selling. You can export a JSON backup or delete everything at any time โ both are free. THE PAID PART No subscription. Logging, the full chart, the observations drawn from your data, and backup and restore are always free. A single one-time purchase removes the limit on doctor summaries (the first three are free) and covers features added later. โ Belim is not a medical device. Its content is general information and does not replace assessment by a physician, physiotherapist or other healthcare professional.

Verdict
The clearest difference is iOS requirement: PainMap at 15.1 against Belim's 17.0. On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PainMap sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Belim sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
