Your Apple Calendar, organized by what matters. Horizon is a companion for Apple Calendar. It reads the events you already have, sorts them into categories like Work, Health, Family and Travel, and brings the important ones forward: on a dashboard, in your Daily and Weekly Briefing, on your Lock Screen, in widgets, on Apple Watch and through Siri. There's no new calendar to keep up and no account to create. Allow calendar access and Horizon does the rest, on your device. SMART CATEGORIES Horizon's AI sorts every event into one of 19 categories and learns from each correction you make. Add your own: Horizon suggests words from your calendar and shows which events a category would get before you add it. Quick Categorize deals out the rest as cards. A DASHBOARD THAT STARTS WITH TODAY The Today card shows the weather and what's happening now or next. Birthdays, holidays and trips sit in a strip above each day's events, so what you have to get to comes first. Browse by category, switch to the month, or turn your iPhone sideways for the week. DAILY & WEEKLY BRIEFINGS The Daily Briefing gives you the shape of your day: how much is on, when it starts, when you're done and where your free time is. The Weekly Briefing covers your busiest days, highlights, how your time splits across categories, and every conflict. Life Patterns looks back over months to show where your time really goes. WEEKLY GOALS At least 3 workouts a week, or at most 20 hours of Work. Your progress shows on the category, in your briefings and in Life Patterns. WATCHLIST Count down to what you're looking forward to: a trip, a birthday, a concert. A watched event gets a Live Activity on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, milestone notifications a month, a week and a day out, and its own widget. Watch a recurring event and the countdown moves on to the next one by itself. FIND FREE TIME Need an hour for the gym or coffee with a friend? Horizon looks through your schedule within the hours you choose and suggests the best openings. Tap one to create the event. INVITATIONS & OVERLAPS Every invitation waiting for a reply is in one list, with a note when it overlaps something you're going to. Turn on Keep Until Answered and they wait there, out of your day, until you reply. Open any event to see what it collides with. SIRI, SHORTCUTS & FOCUS Ask "What's on my Horizon today?" or "When am I free this week in Horizon?" Add an event, watch one or change its category by voice. Nine actions are ready in Shortcuts, Controls work in Control Center and on the Action button, and Focus filters show only the categories you choose while a Focus is on. WIDGETS Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets for your next events, your day or your week, and your Watchlist. They stay current without opening the app. REMINDERS THAT FIT THE EVENT Set reminder timing per category: a week ahead for a trip, the morning of for a birthday, 30 minutes before a meeting. Horizon can skip events that already have a Calendar alert, so you're never reminded twice. DUPLICATES HANDLED The same meeting on your work and personal calendars shows up once, and so does a hotel stay booked through a travel app. Open it to see every copy. BUILT ON APPLE CALENDAR Horizon works with every calendar in Apple Calendar: iCloud, Google, Exchange, Outlook and CalDAV. Create events in Horizon, categorized as you type, and edit existing ones in Apple's own editor. IPHONE, IPAD, IPHONE DUO & APPLE WATCH A side-by-side layout on iPad, a planner across both displays of iPhone Duo, and your whole day and your Watchlist on Apple Watch. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Categorization runs entirely on your device. Your events are never sent to a server, and there are no Horizon accounts and no tracking. Your categories and settings follow you to your other devices through your own iCloud account.

Most task apps flatten your life into a list. DoTree doesn't. Here you break a goal down as far as you actually think — from the big ambition to the next small step. Folders inside folders, like a file system. Everything draggable, like files. And when it's time to work, you never have to look at the tree: the Active view shows only what's due now. • A TREE, NOT A LIST: unlimited depth, projects with progress bars — weighted by effort if you want • WHAT'S ACTUALLY DUE: the Active view pulls today out of a thousand tasks, grouped by date or by priority • IMPORTANT, OR MERELY URGENT: an Eisenhower matrix separates the two — and shows what's allowed to wait • BEFORE YOU OVERCOMMIT: the Forecast adds up every day's hours and flags the ones where you've planned more than fits • SPEAK IT INSTEAD OF TYPING: say what's on your mind and DoTree turns it into a structured outline with dates and effort, on device, for you to review before anything is created • RECURRENCE THAT THINKS: fixed to a date even when things pile up, or starting over once you're done — weekdays, month days, multi-year rhythms • DATES THAT INHERIT: subtasks take start and due dates from above, with optional times • YOUR OWN ORDER: contexts with icons and colors, life areas, stars, and an idea store for everything that isn't a commitment yet • APPLE CALENDAR: task time spans appear as entries in dedicated DoTree calendars, and move along when your dates change • REMINDERS: push tasks to Apple Reminders and check them off on either side — done is done, everywhere • ATTACHMENTS: photos straight from the camera, voice notes, videos, files • BRING YOUR STUFF: import from MyLifeOrganized (XML), export everything as JSON whenever you like • EVERYWHERE YOU WORK: iPhone, iPad, and Mac — with a widget and optional Face ID lock YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS No account. No sign-up. No subscription, no ads, no analytics, no trackers. Your content lives on your device and syncs through your own private iCloud — we run no server and cannot read any of it. Dictation stays on your device by default, too. DoTree is free, and it stays free. Your plan. Your tree. Your data. DoTree is not affiliated with MyLifeOrganized.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Horizon at 9 against DoTree's 1. On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Horizon against 5.0 for DoTree. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Horizon has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
