Free to download. 14-day trial, then subscribe for capture, save, measure, and compare. Preview-only without a subscription. ProScope Capture is the companion app for the ProScope T2 USB-C digital microscope — and a capture station for other ProScope models and most UVC-compliant USB microscopes and cameras. Plug a T2 into a USB-C iPad or Mac for live view, stills, and video. Use the T2 Capture and Freeze buttons, or capture from the screen. The same USB path works with class-compliant UVC cameras: if iPadOS or macOS shows the device as a normal video camera, ProScope Capture can use it. Also works with ProScope T1 (Wi‑Fi), ProScope Mobile, V2, EDU, and the HR / HR2 / HR5 family. Built-in cameras are available for supporting photos. On iPhone, USB cameras are not supported (Apple limitation). For ProScope T1, join the scope All-Light Wi‑Fi network in Settings, then open Capture. For ProScope T2 and other USB / UVC cameras, use a USB-C iPad or Mac. Calibration and measurement tools are available on macOS. The interface is optimized for landscape so hardware and controls stay consistent while you work. PROSCOPE T2 (iPad and Mac) • Plug the T2 into a USB-C port (cable on the bottom of the handle). • Select ProScope T2 as the camera, then capture stills and record video. • Use the hardware Capture and Freeze buttons, or the on-screen controls. • The app starts on No Camera and does not turn on a built-in webcam until you choose a source. It remembers your last camera and restores a connected T2. UVC USB MICROSCOPES AND CAMERAS (iPad and Mac) • Works with most UVC-compliant USB microscopes and webcams that appear as a standard video device. • Choose the camera in the picker, set resolution when the device reports more than one mode, then capture stills and record video. • Performance depends on the camera hardware and OS version. If the system does not list the device, Capture cannot use it. CAPTURE & SAVE • Choose your camera and resolution, then capture stills and record video. • Save to your Photos library and choose an album (or the main library). On Mac you can also save to a folder. • Use the Recent strip to open captures quickly during a session. OTHER PROSCOPE HARDWARE • ProScope T1 Wi‑Fi: join All-Light, then connect on iPhone or Mac. • ProScope Mobile / AirMicro: Wi‑Fi live view where supported. • USB HR, HR2, HR5, M3, V2, and EDU on iPad and Mac. MEASURE & DOCUMENT (macOS) • Calibrate with a known reference at your current magnification. • Draw measurements on still images and export PNG files with overlays. • Add labels and keep layouts clear for study guides and lab notes. COMPARE (iPhone, iPad, and Mac) • Compare two still images side by side or stacked, from Photos, Recents, and on iPad or Mac, Files, with optional notes where supported. SUBSCRIPTION • New users receive a 14-day full-feature trial. • After the trial, a subscription is required to continue full capture, saving, measurement, and comparison features. • Without a subscription, the app runs in preview-only mode (see in-app messaging for current details). ORIENTATION • The app is intended for landscape use to match ProScope and USB camera workflows. Scatto
Read full descriptionHide full description
Scatto is two tools in one: a full RAW editor for your whole library and a camera built for photographers. A FULL RAW EDITOR — FOR EVERY PHOTO Open any photo in your library, including RAW files from your DSLR or mirrorless, and develop it like in a digital darkroom. RAW files are redeveloped from the negative on every adjustment: exposure, white balance, sharpening and noise reduction work inside development itself, where quality is highest. • Light: exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites and blacks • Color: white balance, tint, vibrance with protected skin tones, saturation • Master and per-channel R, G, B tone curves • Eight HSL bands: hue, saturation and luminance, color by color • Detail: sharpening, luminance and color noise reduction, clarity • Effects: vignette and grain • Twelve film Looks with adjustable strength • Interactive crop with aspect ratios, straighten, rotation and mirroring Hold to compare before/after, histogram always in view. Non-destructive: every edit exports a new photo and your original is never touched; a pure develop keeps gain-map HDR. A REAL CAMERA A viewfinder that responds like a camera body: tap to focus and expose, hold for AE/AF lock, pinch for continuous zoom, drag to compensate exposure. The shutter is always ready — shoot in quick succession while development happens in the background — and you can also fire with the volume buttons or the Camera Control. JUST LIGHT — RAW, the honest way Capture native Bayer RAW with computation turned almost all the way down: no aggressive HDR, no over-sharpening, no "smart" reprocessing. Your library gets the negative — pure DNG; opt in and an HEIC companion rides along with an adaptive gain map: real HDR with zero tone mapping. In the review, press and hold to compare the same shot against Apple's processing. Apple ProRAW is supported on capable devices. FILM LOOKS, LIVE IN THE VIEWFINDER Twelve film stocks modeled on real references — from '60s slide film to tungsten night negative with its red halation, to black & white pushed to 1600 — shown in real time as you compose. Grain in the midtones, halation, vignetting. Your RAW always stays clean: the look is baked into the HEIC only. MANUAL CONTROLS • Shutter Priority and ISO Priority, plus full Manual with long exposures up to the sensor's real limit • Analog needle light meter and live RGB histogram — free • Focus peaking and zebra stripes on blown highlights • Dedicated Macro mode, gyro level, 3/10s self-timer • Control dials with haptic detents PRIVATE BY DESIGN Scatto collects nothing. Everything happens on your device. No accounts, no analytics, no trackers. Your photos are yours. FREE, AND PRO Free forever: tap to focus and expose, AE/AF lock, continuous zoom, level, self-timer, volume buttons and Camera Control, HEIC or JPEG capture, the analog meter, the live histogram, review with EXIF, two live Film Looks (Chrome 64 and Mono 400), the library gallery and the basic editor (exposure and crop). Scatto Pro unlocks the full editor — advanced light, color, curves, HSL, RAW-level detail, effects and every Look — plus native RAW / Just Light and ProRAW, Manual / Shutter / ISO Priority with long exposures, manual white balance and focus, focus peaking, zebras, macro, film aspect ratios and advanced grids. Scatto Pro is available as a yearly subscription with a 7-day free trial, a monthly subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: ProScope Capture at every 2 weeks against Scatto's every 4 weeks. ProScope Capture also leads on device support (3 vs 1). Scatto's advantage is iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.2). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
