You don't have to break focus to tap a timer. When you finish, you know how long you played, and you can hear that take again right away. [Play a note, and timing starts] Connect a digital piano or MIDI keyboard by Bluetooth or a cable. Timing starts when a note comes in. You don't tap Start. By default, 5 seconds of silence pauses, and 1 minute of silence saves a practice log. You can change both waits: pause 1–30 seconds, end 1–10 minutes. You can also end it yourself. [It records the time you actually play] Timing follows the MIDI. While the piano is sending notes, time adds up. When you stop, it pauses. Each log is one continuous performance, with the piece name you enter. [When you finish, hear it again on the piano] The MIDI from that session stays in the log. Tap play, and the notes go back to the connected keyboard, so you hear that take on the piano. You can line up what felt easy and where you got stuck.
